Too many times have I had a black woman sit in front of me and pour her heart out about why she's not equal, why she's treated as less than and why her culture is being taken away from her. This interview made me emotional. I'm in awe of Azealia and so proud of her for being completely real about this issue and everything else on her mind from day one.

The college I go to is like 90% white kids and so many people are so racist and even some of my friends brush off like the eric garner thing like "oh its so annoying im over it". It ****ing pisses me off you dont think black people aren't over it? its been happening to them for ****ing centuries and you're over it cuzz its too much on your ****ing facebook feed? are you serious.

 

Like 2 weeks ago I participated in a die-in protest with the black student union at my school and afterwards there's all these racist comments on yik yak and people rolling their eyes at me cuzz I have michael brown's name taped to my chest. It's disgusting and horrible and Azealia's absolutely right. People want to act like racism is over... like it's all equal now and nothings about race. They're trying to erase it but it's not ****ing over.

The media has plenty of voices (many white) who dismiss Macklemore and Iggy in an almost racist way. Iggy joining in is about as redundant as Madonna joining the Gaga copycat thing. She doesn't need to go there, she could rise above it.

Awe poor thing. It always makes me cry watching people break down in interviews. I wish she hadn't brought up the Bill Cosby thing again though, it distracts from all the legitimate points she had to make.

Great interview, you can tell she's just full of passion. She might say some things that aren't that well worded or we'll thought out, but she's just so full of passion for her culture and music

Azealia made everything make sense and I'm so happy to be a fan of an actual artist (Azealia) and not a product. :emo:

 

I don't feel pushed away by her like I kind of did before when she would talk about race issues on twitter, just because I'm white doesn't mean she was ever talking about me. I just appreciate her and her art so much and I hate hearing her feel this way/be treated this way. :cry:

About twenty minutes in and I'm loving it so far, I can't relate to how she feels and I don't agree with a couple of things so far BUT I'm understanding her view a lot more and it's sweet how passionate she is. Props to her!
