I feel worse for the hordes of stupid pre-teens and tweens who hang on to his every word and idolize him. They're truly the losers in this case :smh:

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

I have a hard time believing that Nash, and not a publicist, wrote that apology. It just doesn't feel like something a 16-year old would say. And the only reason he apologized was to preserve his Vine fame and continue making money off millions of thirsty prepubescent girls.

That said, the death threats are not okay. The Internet is such a stupid place sometimes  :thetea:

Sorry, can't truly accept that apology. In my opinion he only apologized because people found those from his past and in order to save face he apologized. Then again it's the Internet so I can't really feel his emotion.

lol what do you want him to do? not apologize? Some people are just never satisfied...

I don't watch his vines. I don't really know who this is, but are we going to attack somebody for what they said at 15?

I wouldn't have said that stuff at 15, but I know people who did. They aren't like that anymore. I went to a private all-boys school and homophobia was still rampant. I can understand someone saying stupid things in order to fit in, peer pressure is a big force for teenagers. I was a pretty good kid but I still did some stupid things due to what my friends and peers were doing.

Maybe, if it wasn't for the backlash, he WOULD still be spouting homophobic language. Some might even say it is likely he would, but if he received the negative backlash and learned that there was negative consequences for his behaviour than so what?

If he doesn't act like a homophobe in the future than I'm sure his apology is sincere.

I suppose there are a lot of users here that are around the same age as him, so I understand why so many users are still offended. I'm still young at 20 years old, but I've personally seen people mature and change their views dramatically over the 5 year span of 15-20.

Most of the homophobic crap that is spurted is usually only a result of the culture in high school pressuring people to be the same and act the same as everyone else. These views are pretty fragile, they are not always deeply held values but are spouted to be part of the cool crowd or to avoid being a target for the abuse they see others in that group face.

Give people a chance to grow and change or you will never see any growth or change. Hold people accountable for their words and actions, but try to encourage and foster change.
