Willy Wonka 4
Exbibit B - alleged mental health issues and general messiness. Sound like the kind of person who might say something stupid and latter deny it. Victim of every -ism going - sounds like it's her issues. More hypothetical, circumstantial, non-existent evidence. I'm seeing a pattern here: You've come to a conclusion and you're desperately grasping at straws trying to justify it. But seriously, using mental health issues to try and justify your own racism? That's low. And once again, this is between 2-12 years after she's won the grammy. But keep trying. This is funny. Also, I have to point out that I was promised "lots of stuff" that would be alienating towards whites. So far you've come up with nothing that she's actually said. Disappointing. craig 680
Also, I have to point out that I was promised "lots of stuff" that would be alienating towards whites. So far you've come up with nothing that she's actually said. Disappointing. The blog saying blacks can't be racist is her words. Many whites would consider such double standards racist. The link for "bipolar disorder" is Wyclef Jean, a fellow black artist. Doesn't that make it more likely she'd say crazy stuff? When someone as privileged and talented as Lauryn has such a hard on for victimhood, one suspects a personal persecution complex might have some bearing. Gov Hooka 8,008
good ****ing bye hahahahahahaha it gets even better when i actually opened the link and read the part where she talks about how there are white people who basically don't have a racist bone in their body and are perfect people and you want to use this to "suggest" she's made anti-white comments good ****ing bye hahaha i would just like to say your rhetoric makes me cringe at times. :excuseme:
Willy Wonka 4
The blogging saying "blacks can't be racist" is her words. Many whites would consider such double standards racist. The link for "bipolar disorder" is Wyclef Jean, a fellow black artist. Doesn't that make it more likely she'd say crazy stuff? Not what she's saying at all (did you even read?), nor did she say that quote (once again, did you even read?) so it shouldn't be in quotation marks, but are you also going to ignore when she writes about good white people? Is that alienating to white people too? hahaha. And I'm dying for so many reasons. 1. I never asked for who said she had bipolar disorder, but cool I guess. 2. Unless it's Dr. Wyclef Jean, she's not diagnosed with anything, so still not relevant. 3. "a fellow black artist" He was in The Fugees with her. I'm ****ing dying. "a fellow black artist" Do you do any research before talking? 4. You have no clue what bipolar disorder is. You're just trying to throw mental illness at her because you can without even knowing about it. 5. This is extremely offensive how uneducated you are while trying to justify your racism. 6. Typically, no. That's not a symptom of bipolar disorder at all. All bipolar disorder is is a cycle of mania episodes and depressive episodes. Basically, you'll go through periods where you feel like you've taken the pill from the movie Limitless and then periods of extreme depression. You know ****. Willy Wonka 4
Exhibit C: Eminemhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxVBGUmjAvQ&feature=youtu.beNot you quoting the guy who has said the N word in songs. And not you pulling an interview from when he jumped on the rumors of what Lauryn said. And I can't believe you'd even try and use a YouTube comment as a source. Come on. That's pathetic. How many times do we have to go over this? There is no reputable source that says this actually happened.Just a random, anonymous caller on Howard Stern who called in and spread rumors.Origins: In 1996 a caller to the Howard Stern show claimed Lauryn Hill of The Fugees made anti-white statements during an MTV interview, to the effect of proclaiming she'd rather see her child starve than have a white kid buy her album. Circulated rumors about the inflammatory comment Hill supposedly made varied from telling to telling, including statements such as:"If I'd known white people were going to buy my last album, I never would have recorded it.""I would rather have my children starve than have white people buy my albums.""I would rather die than have a white person buy one of my albums."When asked on MTV about their feelings on having the number one album in the nation, The Fugees said they'd "rather see babies starve and die than have white kids" buy their album.Let's put this one to rest: If Lauryn Hill or any other member of the Fugees had said anything like that on MTV or anywhere else, the tape of those remarks would have hounded them ever after. That no one could produce such a tape  or even agree on what was said, and by whom  should have driven a stake through this rumor's heart.MTV would later announce the allegation against Hill wasn't true, but by then it was too late; the rumor was already in motion. In the wake of this controversy Hill did call in to The Howard Stern Show on 21 May 1996 to rebut the comment, and on numerous other occasions she denied saying anything remotely resembling the statement credited to her. During an MTV taping in 1998, for example, she maintained:You know, everybody has to be really careful, you know, what they ... what they read and hear, because you never know what's true. You know, a couple of years ago some kid had heard that I'd said that I didn't want white people to buy my records, and that really, really hurt me a great deal because I like to think my music is really universal, you know, and I've been everywhere and I have fans everywhere, but because of some rumor that, you know, some radio personality chose to, you know, to say on his radio show, he had a bunch of people believing something that they'd never seen or never heard themselves but just heard a rumor. In response to her critics, Lauryn Hill offered the explanation: "What I did say was that I love my people, black people, and I will continue to make music for them":Lauryn insists she wants people to understand that her goal to improve the self-love of young African-American women should never be confused with advocating racial supremacy. "There are a lot of young black girls who I meet in my travels who don't have a lot of self-esteem," she explains. "So if I communicate to them that they're beautiful, no white person should find fault in that. It doesn't mean that young white girls aren't beautiful, because they are just as beautiful."http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/laurynhill.asp You know Snopes is basically known as the verifiable mythbuster, right? Like if they say it didn't happen, it didn't happen. You have nothing. You have some personal vendetta to make this statement true when every reputable source says it's not. Why do you want it to be true so bad? What personal stake do you have it in being true? There was another member who believed the statement was true as well. Then he saw the evidence and realized he'd been misinformed. You, on the other hand, refuse to give up, even though you have to pull at straws to try and make a case. Why is it so important to you that this statement actually happened? But I mean, really, I can see where you're coming from. I mean, you remember when Gaga said this, right?I think Adele is really talented, but being fat will only get you so far, sitting in a chair will get boring after the fourth video, you know? maybe if she danced her ass off like I do in every video, she wouldn’t be as big as she is.Because that's still attributed to a 60 Minutes interview she did. Why do you want it to be true so bad? What personal stake do you have it in being true? I said I was agnostic about the quote and it wasn't the main issue. Willy Wonka 4
I said I was agnostic about the quote and it wasn't the main issue. You got really angry and challenged me to back up my opinion of Lauryn ... I'm willing to let it go as "you like her, I don't" if you will. Dude, you've literally been making **** up to try and justify your irrational hatred of this chick. This entire time you've been trying to prove a quote that never occurred. All evidence points to it never occurring and only being an urban legend and you're still holding onto it for dear life. You still have some personal reason to want that quote to be true. Any rational person would've been like "****, I guess I was wrong". But you have pulled up random interviews with Wyclef Jean and random blog posts to try and create a hypothetical situation where she could have possibly said it. So then you said "well there are other things" and I said okay, show me. And you came up with a blog post where she said racism against people of color is different that what is perceived as reverse racism. And that's about it. Your hatred is irrational. And your original comment of calling her a "black bigot" makes me feel like it's racially motivated. If it was an MTV interview, there would be a video of it. There would be something more concrete than a rumor started by a caller or a YouTube comment. It's not an "I like her, you don't" situation. It's a "what the hell is your problem that's making you act contrary to logic and evidence for the sake of a personal vendetta against her?" What do you have to gain by believe this quote occurred? Why are you acting irrationally?
