I think my biggest problem w. Disease is the overuse of metaphor like lyrics. There’s too much I could do this, be this, like this, like that, if you were this, whereas Bloody Mary is so poetic

i think if I ignore nostalgia, Disease is a better song

both incredible though :giveup: BM at the BTWBall is such a standout memory in life

Bloody Mary

Both songs are in Gaga’s top 10, though. But Bloody Mary is probably in her top 5.

That said, Disease is easier to listen to 24/7. Bloody Mary is more of a “rare” pleasure.

Bloody Mary is heavy in texture, Disease is hard in beats. Meaning Bloody Mary is full of instrumentation and its result is soft while Disease is empty in terms of layers (like Chromatica empty) but agressive (and qualitative) and hits exactly where it should. Both are wonderful.

Hmm, I more or less get what you mean, but I would NOT call Disease "empty in terms of layers".

Well it doesn’t sound empty, but I really think it is, compared to pop music standards. It must have like 20 instrumental layers thoughout the song.


But if anything, it shows that they’ve done a wonderful job.
