As if one (Willy Wonka is who you're referring too, don't be shady) legitimately disproving your argument and validating your racism is being a "SJW".

ORRRRR, *shocker*, she had a better album than those two.

Please tell me if I am wrong because I don't know if i'm interpreting this wrong. Are you saying that she deserved to win because she had a better album than those two. But if a white person wins over a black person and you disagree, it's racist?

You don't have a Grammy because your music don't deserve one. Stop using your skin color as an excuse. An album peaking at #1 will never mean it's of quality, stupid viral song spend weeks on #1. She's just being pathetic.

Black artists are nominated for and win Grammys all the time. I don't believe in this whole segragation between "white music" and "black music". To me music doesn't have a race, it transcends that.

How was my argument disproved?

The fact that the quote is disputed doesn't disprove my general view of her character. She's said lots of stuff alienating towards whites.

And all that is a side issue compared to stats about number of black AOTY wins since 1974.

You want her to be the angry, scary, messy, radical, white-hating black girl that she isn't so that your racist feelings towards her are justified.

She's just ONE black person. That that saying anyone dissing Iggy must be racist against whites.

They are plenty of whites spouting similar politics and sense of victimhood. I don't like them either.

Why does Beyonce have so many f*cking awards. While Madonna got snubbed for years.

Why did "white soul" Adele get put against Gaga in pop, allowing Chris Brown to win the "black" category.

The Grammies are anti-rap (see Eminem never winning AOTY), but pander to blacks a lot.

maybe because daddy knowles is on the grammy committee

This is more of a genre issue and less of a race issue.

Cite the "lots of stuff". I'd love to see it.

Additionally, since when has the word "disputed" come to mean disproved? The only one disputing it is you. MTV, who allegedly did the interview where she said it, has said it never happened. She has repeatedly said it never happened. No tape of her saying it exists anywhere. The only person who ever said it happened is the one anonymous caller who called into Howard Stern and said that she said that and numerous other horrendous things. Other than that one call, there's never been any evidence. It's not "disputed". It's a rumor, much like the one that went around about Ralph Lauren that said he didn't want Asians and Blacks wearing his clothes. That never happened either.

So I have three questions for you:

1. What are some examples of the "lots of stuff" she's said that's alienating towards whites?

2. Why don't you believe the evidence and numerous sources that say that your quote was falsified and never happened?

3. What reputable source is disputing that this quote actually DID happen?

Exhibit A:

It's interesting that after being damaged by accusations of racist comments, Lauryn's blog comment after her IRS trial starts by denying that blacks can be racist. To me, that suggests that she has said racist things about whites, but thinks its okay because of how blacks were victimized in the past.

good ****ing bye hahahahahahaha

it gets even better when i actually opened the link and read the part where she talks about how there are white people who basically don't have a racist bone in their body and are perfect people

and you want to use this to "suggest" she's made anti-white comments

good ****ing bye hahaha

But what does this have to do with her winning a grammy 10+ years prior

but she literally talks about the existence of perfect white people in terms of humanity and equality in the link he posted hahahaha

so your first piece of evidence isn't evidence at all and just you spouting hypotheticals based on something she said ten years after she won her grammy okay continue

for there being "tons of stuff", you sure are having to reach right off the bat

Exbibit B - alleged mental health issues and general messiness.

http://www.stereogum.com/1446392/deconstructing-lauryn-hills-rise-and-fall-15-years-after-the-miseducation-of-lauryn-hill/franchises/deconstructing/

Rumors swirled that Hill had bipolar disorder, received spiritual misguidance, and underwent paternity disputes. She refused to do interviews for much of this period, but her disillusionment remained apparent throughout the lengthy interludes on her 2002 live album, MTV Unplugged No. 2.0. She also endured an arduous legal battle after four musicians sued her for failure to properly credit their songwriting and production on The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill. The details of that lawsuit, which reportedly settled for $5 million, never fully surfaced. Some believe Hill caved despite her legal representation’s objections in order to put an end to a tumultuous fight. Meanwhile, her skeptics claimed she should have given those musicians co-songwriting and production credit on 13 of the album’s 14 tracks (the liner notes state that Hill was the sole songwriter on 12 tracks). Few know what truly happened, but it the tussle cast a shadow on her musical legacy.

After years of silence, Hill slowly launched a return and played occasional shows. She joined the Rock The Bells tour in 2010 to mixed fanfare and made appearances at Coachella and New Orleans Jazz Fest the following year. Along the way, critics lashed out at Hill for her erratic and unprofessional performances, including some gigs where she kept fans waiting for hours to hear a shell of her former self. Hill released occasional singles, including “Fearless Vampire Killer†and “Black Rage,†but a proper release never surfaced despite rumors that dozens of songs are finished.

The law eventually caught up with Hill’s free-spirited lifestyle in June 2012 when she was charged with tax evasion. Around that time, she explained in a Tumblr post  her primary medium for public communication  that she had withdrawn from society to protect her family’s safety amid a “climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, s-xism and ageism.†The singer added that she intended all along to fix the situation. Nevertheless, she pled guilty weeks later in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and stated through her lawyers she would agree to pay back taxes stemming from the three-year period.

Sound like the kind of person who might say something stupid and latter deny it.

Victim of every -ism going - sounds like it's her issues.
