No :wtf:

One of the mistakes of ARTPOP was that we heard 5-6 songs before the album and the hype died down.

I dont think this will work for Gaga since she is more known than Marina...

Also i personaly woul not want more than 2 or 3 song before album because we had like 6+ songs for ARTPOP and it kinda killed a hype......and yeah also album would leak and thats not good.

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

I'd rather have Gaga following Beyoncé's strategy. I hate how we get to hear almost the whole album before its release.

I don't think it matters one bit. Its all about the quality + commercial success of the singles. Whether they come before or after album release, I don't think it would matter, if the music slayed.

Nope. Gaga done this kind of thing before, it's not just a Marina thing. Born This Way the single was released in February, and the album in May.

I would not want 5 singles from an album before the release from Gaga, it would totally ruin the surprise of the album and the first time listening.

no becuase as much as i like marina and her music, this whole "frootmas" stuff is stupid and tacky and cringe worthy, print out paper tree decorations? um no thanks, it's embarrassing.

Just release a single a couple of months before the album is out, simple, #musicnothtebling

I invented post-its

I would personally do this (just some changes)

-release the lead single + video +  send it on the radios

-after two months release the second single + video +  send it on the radios

-after two months release the third single, and then one week after that the video + album release!

So, in 4 months and 1 week we have everything, but you still give enough time for singles to grow on the radio. I think it would work, and of course in those two months, there would be promotions of the current single and some more hype..

If you revolve your strategy around avoiding failure, you end up in mediocrity.

Her next hit, will need to be a hit song, just like any other artist apart from a chosen few newbies on their first shot of stardom.

personally i'm sick to death of every album release bringing a new marketing trick

THANK YOU /thread /life /theindustry!

if the music is good u shouldnt have to trick people into buying it or putting it on their devices like its 1984. just release a first single and then drop the album like a month or two after and keep the interest on already heard songs with interesting videos that will update the dialogue of your music. just simple!

yeah i think it's cool when artists themselves choose to experiment with new ways to release their music - see iamamiwhoami and thom yorke - but when it's the result of a corporate board meeting it's just irritating

or the lady gagas for that matter  :lolgaga:

i'd love gaga to release an album iamamiwhoami-style... each song released simultaneously with its music video, at regular intervals, in the order of the album tracklist  :saira: it's such a shame she wanted to do a video for every ARTPOP song and for like 4 more BTW singles

3 singles maximum before the album's release. It's risky if the songs are not popular

Nicki Minaj tried with 4 singles and we'll see what will happen next week
