  1. 1. Should Gaga follow Marina's album release strategy?

The problems with Marry the Night and G.U.Y. was that by the time of their release, the hype around Gaga had died down. Nobody cared anymore, and the people who did (the fans) already bought the album. I think there is a way to avoid this problem with the next album cycle.

So after Marina and the Diamonds officially released her lead single in November, she announced that the album was not coming out until April, a whole 5 months after the single. She's releasing a new single every month until the album comes out. Imagine if Gaga did this with her next album.

- 5 singles (with music videos) before the album even comes out.

- The singles would create more hype for the album

- No one has bought the album yet so every single would have the support of the fans that lead singles generally do

- When the album finally comes out, even if it underperforms, we already have 5 singles out, so she can choose to go right on tour if that's what she wants. And if it is successful, she can continue putting out singles. It's all up to her.

- Either way we will avoid the 3 single-2 music video death of ARTPOP  :cryga:

I think it's a win-win situation and a great idea! What about you?

I guess... but I think a leak should happen around the release of the 3rd single to create even more hype. Then the album and other possible singles. She just needs more hype for the GP to get interested.

People would be incredibly fed up of her after five months of promo and radio play, the album would bomb. It's only working for Marina as she's less played.

No.

I can stand pre-oredering music 3 months early max.

Besides, Gaga's world is much much much more hectic than Marina's.

Girl can actually changes minds last minute before it waas released.

It looks like a good plan but idk, Gaga is 100x bigger than Marina, people would get sick of her too fast

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

How about minimal or even no promo, except for the music videos?

No :wtf:

One of the mistakes of ARTPOP was that we heard 5-6 songs before the album and the hype died down.

She is too big for that strategy (that is good for Marina, but not for Gaga)

So you want 5 flops before the album? Ok...

I think the music can market itself tho.. Beyonce did it. And tbh I just want more music videos :toofunny:

She is not in the same position as Beyoncé was before Beyoncé - the album.

If she promotes her next lead single on the moon, we'll be lucky to get a top 3

We are talking about Gaga though, she hypes things a LONG time before release and she always works on albums up until the last minute. I just don't think she could work like that without having a team of people that control everything for her... which she'll evidently fight against before getting depressed again etc.

It's a nice idea but it would be executed horribly if in Gaga's hands. Imagine another Swinefest (which slayed) then the disappointment that came after when hardly any of the songs lived up to expectations?
