Do you guys agree with this ATRL quote about Interscope?

Honestly I don't understand people freaking out about Interscope controlling people.

I mean, if I'm correct Lana Del Rey is part of Interscope and she seems to be happy and not controlled.

they tried to change her album tho, with Paul Epworth and he ended only as a bonus track (Black Beauty) because she fought for her vision. BWET didnt got a release date because they wanted hits on there, so if AB didnt record one, not release her for. But she wanted her album as how she wanted it, so she left

Do you remember that tweet from her all excited to play ARTPOP to her label? Then we didn't hear from her some time. They made her to start over.

I'm not saying that Interscope was completely innocent. That's obviously not the case, but everyone has to take accountability for their actions. Gaga is not an Angel, nor is she perfect.

It's science, bitch

Well, I rarely read people blamed Interscope per se, people have always blamed Gaga and manager, we'll never know what happened exactly, so it's really time to move on.

I don't think anybody is to 'blame' for the performance of ARTPOP.

I wish Gaga had a little more freedom in a way, I almost feel like she could fund her own projects at this point but then again it's easy for me to say. I understand why Gaga wouldn't want to spend every dollar she has on her art. She also has a life and I'm sure she wants to settle down with Taylor at some point.

I think the DWUW video should have been released, I don't think the tour should have started so early either. She should have had more time to promote G.U.Y and other singles. It seems like ARTPOP was basically scrapped after DWUW and that's a shame,  I'm glad that Gaga at least funded an amazing video for G.U.Y but it would have been great if Interscope had trusted her a little more.

She has already proven herself to her label, I mean thinking long term, it would look better on her legacy if she had an "Experimental, controversial underperformance" than just a two single era with poor management. If she remains signed with Interscope that means more money for them in the future.

If we had a video for DWUW and the telephone continuation with Aura then we have two controversial, boundary pushing singles. Aura isn't entirely radio friendly either. Looking back and seeing Applause, DWUW, G.U.Y and Aura as the singles of an era would have shown amazing diversity and a boundary pushing unique piece of work.

I'm sure with more promotion for G.U.Y it would have performed better too, meaning more hits to her name.
In ten years time though, we could look back and say

I don't agree because I don't blame just Interscope... I blame everybody. Interscope, Gaga and Troy.

They are responsible too because at the end of the day they decide what gets a release. They are responsible for their money and where it goes. They are the parents in this situation.

really?  I was wondering about that....it'd make sense why TEA and other songs weren't on the album....

It's hard to pin point the blame on a specific entity. I genuinely believe that the universe is against GAGA and it's not in her destiny to be majorly successful again. Voodoo voodoo, voodadada

Exactly, ARTPOP is over. Cheek To Cheek is here with really good promo, a tour and a Grammy nom so let's move on

INTERSCOPE wouldn't let her do the singles the way she wanted. INTERSCOPE wouldn't let her do Burqa. INTERSCOPE made her basically change the entire ARTPOP album before releasing. INTERSCOPE wouldn't let her do a video for every song. INTERSCOPE wouldn't let her do Act II.

I may sound silly making this post, but here goes:

I honestly believe the original, and intended ARTPOP, had TEA, Temple, and Onion Girl on it (as well as others.) However, last minute Gaga was forced to make a few changes. I honestly believe some of the songs on ACT II were originally supposed to be on ACT 1: and the ARTPOP version we now have was a quick, last minute fix. TEA, for example, always sounded amazing to me - well, the quotes we got from Gaga about it on twitter and other sources. I think Interscope made her change a lot of things, including Burqas name change to Aura, and the first verse of the song which a lot of our fanbase now dislikes. The reason, I believe, the first verse was changed was because in the demo, she was extremely eccentric and shouty. To me, it sounded absolutely EPIC, but Interscope obviously had different ideas. That's why the vocals were suddenly changed - or in some cases toned down.

I don't think Interscope is to blame for most of it, though. We know what Gaga is like for her "Betrayels" and false promises. How many of these promises were her fault - we'll never know for certain. However, ARTPOP wasn't what it was supposed to be. That's for sure.

lol she turned in ultraviolence and they were shocked there was no "hits" on it :emma: they made her a meeting to re-produce them with adele's producer, which then he told them no cause he thought it was great already

which then interscope agreed :rip:
