Mars 2,083 Posted December 6, 2014 Share Posted December 6, 2014 well,it's bitter-sweet,ARTPOP has no nominations,decay,that's never happened that gaga solo album wasn't nominated even in one category I actually agree with the Grammys ARTPOP is not a good album and should not be nomianted ARTPOP isn't great but its a damn sight better than what was nominated. DWUW should have definitely been nominated for pop vocal duo and don't even get me started on Katy being nominated for pop vocal album, she simply cannot sing. And now they got one, I couldn't be happier. They rightfully deserve it. Win or lose, Gaga has already made history for being nominated in all the top album categories of Dance, Pop, and Traditional Pop. She has already won two of those. But if she wins this one too, she'd be the first in history to win all three. So even though I'm disappointed with ARTPOP being snubbed most likely due to how it sold, and not because of how it is as a pop album, there's still something great to look forward to for Gaga next year. What the hell Grammys. I wish they were more like the Oscars. Sure there are famous actors that we have all heard of, but then there are obscure ones peppered in and quality movies with intricate plots and amazing acting performances. sigh. Anderson123 36,505 Posted December 7, 2014 Share Posted December 7, 2014 It's a bitter-sweet feeling that Gaga gets only one Grammy nomination (Happy for her, they both deserve it), but I'm a little confused that ARTPOP didn't get a single nomination, and I know it was not as successful and it was supposed to be, but it is by far a better album than some of the ones that are in the Pop Vocal Album category. Anyway, it's going to be a though one between Annie Lenox, Barbra and Gaga/Tony, and knowing the Grammys, even the other two artists could get the award, who knows. Well, I'm happy for Sia and her nominations, she deserves the success and recognition, I hope she gets at least one Grammy. She's the one I'm watching the ceremony for. The milestone Gaga could get is winning all three top album categories of Dance, Pop, and Traditional Pop. She's not the first one to win (or be nominated) in at least three different genre-specific categories. Also, Rihanna has only won 1 top genre-specific album category so far, and that's urban contemporary. Gaga has already won 2, and she could get a 3rd one if C2C wins this category next year.
