Bebe 17,093
this thread ..... again .... are we going to get those threads every day until the C2C era ends :madge: I haven't really seen many threads like this, although admittedly I haven't been on GGD as much. It just seems like so many threads are being made here about how Gaga NEEDS to work with RedOne or NEEDS to do this or that because she isn't as popular as she once was. My question is genuine, why? If you enjoy the artist and have the chance to see them perform live then why does it matter? There are so many artists I would love to see have half as much exposure as Gaga has. As long as Gaga is happy and you enjoy what she is doing I wouldn't think it is a problem. Fans have been down her back about how she is "losing the GP" since BTW, this is nothing to do with C2C. Michael 533
I agree. I became a fan of Gaga when most people did not know who she is, so the sales really don't matter to me.

Sara 1,128
Some people live vicariously through Gaga's success. THAT is a good point, and it explains a lot. But I figured fans like that could just jump to whoever is hot next on the "hot" rotation of fame. The next day another star came, and so it continued always the same, charts, tours, tabloids, decay, always the same.

Bebe 17,093
Unfortunately they won't play her songs on radio, clubs and parties if she is not on the charts. Well we can start worrying about that when it happens As long as I keep getting more awesome music, and I have the opportunity to see her perform live then I'll be thrilled! Because we love her, and we don't want her flop But what is a "flop" by your standards? Is ARTPOP a flop because it didn't sell as much as TF/TFM? Because I still see a major recording artist with numerous television performances who is constantly traveling around the world to perform to thousands of people. Don't you think it is a little early to start panicking? Everything is great with Gaga right now. She is happy and she still has a chance to perform all over T.V and across the globe. I just think it must be unnecessarily stressful and such a drag to worry about her success compared to others or compared to what she had in the past, it would make it so much harder to appreciate the success and exciting projects she has now I mean when you put it into perspective, I really don't see what all the drama is about. She is dressed in designer brands everyday and has a number one album that she is promoting all over television and all over the world. She isn't a struggling artist finding it hard to get by and to sell records/perform. There are so many artists who would kill to have the exposure and the enormous fanbase that Gaga has. Fiona Apple 13,006
I totally agree..Monsters act like ARTPOP sold 500k. It sold 2,5 ****ing million. That's great. No reason to be worried
Bt1 5,213
She deserves better? Anyway, your points arent too strong. Another *succesfull* album like ARTPOP and she wont be able to tour like she did in the past. Even with this tour, there were some dates where she was cleary struggling. We have some arena dates that had box offices similar to a theathre date and stadium dates who have box offices similar to arena dates. Fans are also concerned, because we have ARTPOP era, that was so promising and that in the end delivered 2 videos. Succes is need it to make art in a way. Sara 1,128
i'm in between. for some part, i like gaga to be successful and at the same be authentic to her art.I used to think that was possible. I still hope for it. I still think Gaga DID manage to accomplish a little of both. But in the end, what is successful is cat videos, and the music equivalents thereof. :)
