Bear 7,515
I wish guns were regulated more, or preferably not legal all together. Coming from a country were guns aren't legal, I can't see the need for them I always try hard to see things from other peoples perspective but I can't understand it. xoxo cupcakke 4,781
Yet this won't change gun laws in America because the US is so stubborn and hypocritical. More often than not, people will put the blame on the parents for having a loaded gun in the house and saying the child doesn't know better. That may be true but then again, would this have happened if gun laws in the US were reformed and there was an amendment amending the second Amendment which restricted the easy ability to possess a fire arm? I'd like think no, this would not have happened but Bible Belt America likes to say it's their God given right but nowhere did God say it was okay to own a firearm or anything. In fact, these fake Christians should know and take into account in the time period the Bible was written, guns did not exist and would not exist for another few centuries. At least I can acknowledge over some staunch Westboro Baptist kind of Christians and thugs on the street or army officials thinking they can still own a gun despite not being in the Army or military anymore But that's none of my business though

The kid could've had a knife, or what if the mom was a police officer and the kid got a hold of her gun... This is one of the many reasons I HATE guns! They should make it illegal to have guns cause nothing good ever comes from them. I feel terrible for that family. Nothing good can happen if you make them illegal. Good job! Now only criminals and people who have access to the black market can have them. Spyro the Dragon
Didymus 34,380
US gun laws are so complicated. I had a marvellous discussion with an American the other day in which he said that the danger of guns is overrated, since we step into our cars multiple times a day and don't think of the billions of traffic victims either. Incidents like this, no matter how cruel and sad, are just not a good argument.

APPLAUSE4YOU 454
this is what happens when guns are legal. This has nothing to do with the legalization of guns. What it does highlight, however, is that more people need to be aware that guns are meant to be stored in secure places where young children and adolescents can get a hold of them. But the legalization of guns didn't bring this situation upon this unfortunate family. Hopefully people figure these things out.
Goosey 3,017
What kind of idiot doesn't follow the cardinal rules of gun ownership, keeping the gun locked in a high place separate from the ammunition? That's not a cardinal rule,if the ammunition and gun are both locked away separately how will anyone be able to use it for self or home defense? Supreme Court struck down Washington D. C.'s law requiring guns to be kept locked and unloaded saying it was unconstitutional for this reason. It's still their fault for leaving it unattended in a place where their children could get it.
