Just imagine what the murder rate would be, if these populations in these areas had easy access to guns like everyone does in the US. The government is at least fortunate that these people are fighting with rocks and sometimes knives mostly...otherwise I fear it would be a bloodbath.

Palestinian Girl, 18, Seriously Injured In Jerusalem

 

An armed Israeli settler shot and seriously wounded, on Wednesday, a teenage Palestinian girl, 18 years of age, near the Council Gate (Bab al-Majles) in the Old City. Soldiers attack, injured, a woman in her home in Jerusalem.

The Israeli shooter claims “she tried to stab him,” while eyewitness’s accounts contradicted his allegation.

The Israeli police alleges the young woman “stabbed the settler in the neck, and tried to escape, before he shot her”.

Palestinian eyewitnesses said the wounded girl, from Sur Baher in Jerusalem, did not carry a knife, or a weapon, and that the Israeli assailant was harassing and insulting her, near Bab al-Majles (The Council Gate) before removing her hijab, covering her head, and shot her when she tried to push him away.

In related news, a Palestinian woman suffered various cuts and bruises in her head and shoulders after the soldiers repeatedly attacked her, in her home, in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, in Jerusalem's Silwan town.

The woman, Suad Abu Ramouz, lost consciousness, and was moved to a hospital for treatment, where she regained consciousness, and received six stitches.

The soldiers invaded her home to remove Palestinian flags, raised on its rooftop.

In addition, the army closed Bab al-Amoud, Bab as-Sahera and Bab as-Asbat, preventing the Palestinians from crossing, and pushed dozens of additional soldiers into the Old City.

People...as in people who are stabbing other people or throwing rocks at each other. Never did I say anything about any "side"...just that if both "sides" had guns, instead of rocks and knives, the murder rate would be so much higher.

Yeah but you said government is fortunate, you mean the same government whose army is often unlawfully shooting the other side, who supports and protects the extremist settlers who are also attacking with knives/guns/burning people alive... it's kind of weird thing to say...no one is fortunate here.

Government...as in they would have thosands of people with guns killing each other in the streets. If the people who are throwing rocks had guns, you would see a much worse, MUCH worse situation over all, in every way.  

The people, the government, the innocent, even those involved in the violence are fortunate that this isn't an area of the world where every person has a gun.

Two minors were arrested for allegedly throwing rocks at a bus on Yefet Street in Jaffa, Israel Police reported Wednesday. No people were injured in the attack, but the bus sustained damage.

A Palestinian vehicle tried to break through the A-Zaim security checkpoint near Ma'aleh Adumim in an attempt to run over security forces on Wednesday, the IDF reported. IDF soldiers at the scene fired at the vehicle and apprehended the driver.

A Molotov cocktail was thrown into the bushes next to a police station in Umm el Fahm following a protest Wednesday night, Israel Police said. Police arrested seven protesters for involvement in the incident. All of those arrested were minors and will undergo investigation.

Dozens of Arab residents of the central city of Lod protested at Palmach Square in the city on Wednesday with some of them throwing stones at police forces. An officer was lightly wounded by stones, police said. The protest was dispersed and five people were arrested.

The Parents Association claims that the number of hours that a security guard is on duty has gone down since the start of the school year despite the increased tension in the city.

A suspected terrorist stabbed an IDF soldier before snatching his gun in the southern city of Kiryat Gat, initial reports say. 
A police spokesman said that, upon initial investigation, the suspect approached an armed IDF soldier after stepping off of a bus and attempted to snatch his weapon. The soldier resisted his assailant and as a result of the struggle sustained a light stabbing wound to his head. The suspect continued with the snatched weapon to an adjacent residential building, where he took refuge until being confronted and shot down by police forces minutes later.

Two people were reported hurt in the same area where Palestinian rioters earlier were throwing stones at Israeli motorists and wounded a driver in a violent ambush on her car. An Israeli man shot a knife-wielding female terrorist after being stabbed from behind at Jerusalem’s Lion’s Gate in the Old City. The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transferred to an area hospital, he said. The terrorist, who is in serious-to-critical condition, has also been hospitalized.

Palestinian rioters attempted to ambush an Israeli motorist stuck in traffic outside the West Bank town of Beit Sahour, east of Bethlehem on Wednesday. Police reported that the rioters had erected a barrier of stones and threw rocks at motorists, including the Israeli woman whom they tried to forcefully pull from her vehicle. Another person was hurt and seven other vehicles sustained damage during the incident, according to police.

Around 7:15pm a Palestinian stabbed Israelis in Afula. It’s the 4th stabbing attack today (October 8th), and the (at least) 9th terror attack today.

It’s still unclear how many injured there are and what is their condition.

Jewish terrorist stabs 3 Palestinians, Bedouin in Dimona

Three Palestinian construction workers and one Bedouin municipal worker apparently from the West Bank, were stabbed Friday morning in the southern city of Dimona by a Jewish attacker, in suspected revenge attack.

Two victims of the stabbing were moderately wounded, while the other two suffered light wounds. One victim, a 35-year-old man, sustained slightly deeper wounds than the other 2 men in their 50s. Shortly beforehand, the Bedouin man who was stabbed also incurred moderate wounded.

The Bedouin man, whose identity is still unknown, was stabbed in the street by a large Israeli man who immediately escaped, initial reports indicate. At 8:58 Friday morning, MDA received reports of a young man being stabbed in the back.

"Many people came to the nearby shopping center," explained an MDA medic, Orgad Cohen, who treated the first wounded man "A young worker, maybe 20-years-old, was lying on the pavement. He was fully conscious, but suffering from a stab wound to his upper body. The minute we saw him, we put him in an ambulance, provided medical treatment, and then took him to the hospital."

45 minutes later, three Palestinian men were stabbed, and the assailant was arrested on the scene.

All four were taken to Sokora Hospital for treatment. 

A Jewish resident of the town was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

This comes on the heels of Thursday's violence where eight Israelis were wounded, two of them seriously, in four different stabbing attacks around the country Thursday. At least 6 Palestinians were also wounded in clashes with the IDF, and one was killed in East Jerusalem.

Last night in Jerusalem, right wing activists protested through the streets yelling 'Death to the Arabs,' and similar slogans. For members, including Bentzi Gopstein, head of the far right Lehava organization, were arrested, but were released early Friday morning.

Two Israelis stabbed in Jerusalem and Hebron area

A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Jerusalem, and a police officer was stabbed near Hebron in the West Bank early Friday afternoon.

The suspect in the Jerusalem incident fled the scene at Neviim Street, a road that leads from Damascus Gate to Central Jerusalem, immediately afterwards, but police caught the assailant.

"Hamas’s chief in Gaza on Friday called violence that has hit Israel and the West Bank in recent days an “intifada” and urged further unrest.

“We are calling for the strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to liberation,” Ismail Haniyeh said during a sermon for weekly Muslim prayers at a mosque in Gaza City.

“Gaza will fulfill its role in the Jerusalem intifada and it is more than ready for confrontation,” he added.

The Islamic terror movement Hamas rules Gaza, the Palestinian enclave squeezed between Egypt and Israel and separated from the West Bank.

Gaza has been the site of three wars with Israel since 2008, but it has remained mainly calm amid the recent unrest in Israel and the West Bank.

However, a march of about 300 people on Friday near the border with Israel in the northern Gaza Strip saw youths throw stones toward Israeli soldiers on the other side of the frontier, who responded and caused two injuries, Gazan rescue services said. Other reports put that number at five wounded, with some reports saying a Palestinian had been killed.

A rash of stabbing attacks in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Israel itself, along with rioting, have raised fears of a third Palestinian intifada, or uprising."

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Thursday called on residents who are licensed to carry weapons to do so on a daily basis.

"Possessing weapons increases the confidence of residents, who know that in addition to police there are many people who are not afraid to intervene. If we look at the statistics in Jerusalem and elsewhere, we see that aside from the police, civilians carrying weapons have foiled terror attacks. They will increase the likelihood of fast intervention."

Against the background of a deteriorating security situation which has in recent days spread from Jerusalem and the West Bank to other parts of the country, more and more voices are being heard calling on citizens to carry guns every day to deal with attacks that might take place near them.

On Wednesday, the Commander of the Ashdod police station, Chief Superintendent Noam Shekel, also called on residents who have a weapons permit to carry them.
