Raikov 183
There aren't any active Natalia Kills threads, so I'm going to take a shot at making one myself. I've only recently become a fan, so those of you who know more than me, feel free to add suggestions to the opening post. :) Natalia Kills is an English artist who makes "dark pop." Her first album, Perfectionist, was released in 2011, and often compared sonically to The Fame Monster. Her second album, Trouble, was more autobiographical in its lyrical content and gritter in its sound. She's working on her third album, estimated to be out in 2015. Before she was Natalia Kills, she had some other monikers. The most successful was Verbalicious, under which she released a rap single in 2005 that was moderately received. She also released an EP, Womannequin, under her real name Natalia Cappuccini. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayVuQLT00v0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4By_cfI_1g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZrZI6OmezE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnKTpw6urfI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17nmgfH1jXs Discuss this criminally underrated artist here. hmm 979
I love her stuff, there's some great tunes on both of her albums But in all honesty, I don't think she's underrated, I think her level of success is fitting to what she does

Raikov 183
Wow, lots of fans here! If Natalia were more consistent in releasing things, I feel like she'd have a larger or at least stronger fanbase. She seems relatively inconsistent in terms of releasing things (albums, music videos). I found out too late that there was a NataliaBoards but, like NickiBoards, it's now defunct. (MarinaBoards and LanaBoards remain the survivors). I ordered Trouble at a store and the guy was like "so who's this Natalia Kills person?" and I was sort of at a loss at how to explain it. I just ended up saying she's an obscure pop singer and he said "oh, that's cool." They didn't even have a section for her. The disrespect for Mrs. Ex-Verbalicious is real. Soooo favorite songs, everyone? I love Saturday Nights, although I always skip the instrumental opening. It's got some very powerful imagery in it (the whole "pills fall like diamonds" verse) along with a good melody. I also like Rabbit Hole, very Milkshake-y. Problem is fun, and I remember feeling so proud of myself when I realized it was Emile Haynie producing the song (never change your samples, Mr. Haynie). I have no favorites off Perfectionist because I haven't heard it but I like the singles. I'm waiting for mo money before I order it. I was surprised at how much I like some of her lyrics; I didn't expect her to be a good lyricist, if that makes any sense. Does anyone else dislike Womannequin? I found it really hard to listen to, for some reason. Even Verbal Issues, which was repetitive and bit try-hard, was easier to listen to. At least VI had a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor when it wasn't trying to convince us "i'm totally a real rapper tho seriously very real legit." Finally, what are everyone's expectations for the next album? What are your hopes, fears?
Guest
Criminally underrated indeed She's been collaborating with Madonna and David Guetta for a while now, maybe she's going to write a dancy record? I loved Trouble the most so here's to more trouble!
