Like some have said, iamamiwhoami have been doing this since the beginning of their career some years ago. Fall Out Boy released their album in April last year (8 months before Beyonce, ironically) with the idea to make a video for every song and releasing it onto Vevo, with its final video coming through 5 months ago. And while he wasn't before Beyonce, 50 Cent released a visual album a few months back and it was well documented that he had been working on it for a long time and it had just suffered delay after delay, so there was no way he was inspired by Beyonce. But no one cares about him anymore, so it didn't make headlines. As you can see from these examples, if you want to be called original, you have to be highly successful and mainstream. Because Beyonce is those things, people think she's the frontrunner for certain concepts. But it couldn't be further from the truth. It must have annoyed a lot of indie artists when she was praised for her original surprise album release when a lot of them have been doing just that for years.
