I don't think some of you are taking this seriously tbh, this is big deal, if one of the biggest economies in the world has this....the world is going to suffer as well

With the nuclear radiation leaks and typhoons, this country has been unable to right the ship. Everything has an impact on the economy and Japan has had some difficult issues to overcome. I can't remember the last time the bank actually charged any interest for loans they made to their businesses. This is not good news.

those natural disasters merely exacerbated their situation... their problems go way back

they have serious debt issues, demographic issues and competitive issues...

also a prolongued period of deflation has created this culture where people dont invest... they simply hoard money because thats an investment in itself risk-free which slows the economy even more... it also results in super low rates so banks make like no money

i think Japan has been in trouble for so long that investors and people have become dicensatized to it... i mean after 20+ years of on an off recessions, deflation and huge deficits, you eventually stop paying attention

China is what everyone is concerned about atm... their large housing bubble and highly leveraged banks pose a risk of a bubble bursting... and Stagnant Europe is also doing poorly

But i think Japan poses an equal risk. Japan is one of the 4 big cylinders of the Global economy (China, US, European Union, and Japan).

And if Asia really is imbalanced because of China, then Japan doing poorly will put even more pressure in China because Japan has a heavy influence in Asia

So just because their problems have been going on since get late 1980s... doesnt mean they arent a risk

Praying the anime and manga industry stays strong

Hope this doesn't affect the rest of the world

too much, I don't want to endure another recession so soon after the last one.

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.
