Not people thinking they defend Perez because he's Perez... If it was ANYBODY else, people would've said the same. The fact that it is Perez is completely irrelevant here.

What kind of useless personal attack :smh:

you can't paraphrase what i said and then comment on it lmao

I've grown up a lot in the past few months. I've realized how silly and pointless it is to try and characterize someone by their words instead of by their actions. Azealia has shown herself to be nothing but supportive of the LGBTQ community. If you take issue with her language, that's your prerogative, but to argue that her words define her more than her actions do, that's just short-sighted and unfortunate.

Yas Azealia, your haters are starting to be more obsessed with you than your stans

That's been the case :dead:

Her apology in the past means next to nothing if she's still defending the use today.

She was asked in an interview, and she gave an answer. She never said it was okay.

I root for you. I love you. You, you, you, you.

I'd love to hear more about the myriad ways she's demonstrated positive support for the LGBTQ community. Please, show me.

This. This thread, which centers around a rapper calling a blogger a ******* almost TWO years ago has more replies than a woman sleeping with the CONVICTED rapist of her daughter.

Priories, people.

She loves the gays and thats all that matters. Not what she said to one during an argument two years ago.

I root for you. I love you. You, you, you, you.

Grrrrr

WHY was this reopnened

Now that this thread is back...

Sheep, followers of whatever requires the least amount of thought. I think the fact that words can have multiple meanings is a little too much for their brains to handle. It's not like their fave is lyrical enough to teach them how language operates.

These are Azealia Banks own words:

Past: "A ******* is not a homos-xual male. A ******* is any male who acts like a female. There's a BIG difference."

Present: "A ******* is anybody that hates women."

As an artist that claims to be for intelligent listeners, she has a huge issue articulating and choosing her words.

Call people out on their misogyny, but don't resort to calling them '*******s' as an insult; it's that simple.

like... azealia's own sister, who is NOT straight, and most likely trans... called funkmaster flex a f*ggot today. bc of his actions.  that is NOT homophobia....

i've called supposedly straight people f*ggot before (and again, i am NOT straight)... azealia is NOT straight....

people who are NOT straight use the word f*ggot differently than people who are actually homophobic, n against gay rights,n who hate EVERY gay person, etc.

yall are f*ckin reaching.

a biracial girl who grew up in the hood callin a dude a "dirty n*gga" is NOT the same as a prejudiced white person saying the same thing to a person of color due to hate/racism/etc.

You mean by performing for LA Pride, repeatedly acknowledging the LGBTQ origins of her aesthetic and sound (something rarely done), speaking out about her affection for her gay fans, routinely working with and employing members of the LGBTQ community, and making friends with many queer artists in the hip-hop community (who, coincidentally, have repeatedly defended her when people have made the laughable assertion that she's homophobic).

Due to the original thread title, which was inviting for stan war, this thread has become a place filled with insults and flamebait remarks.

Closing.
