I'm sorry but I adore Marilyn Manson, Hole, Placebo, HIM and other rock bands and the screaming in this song was unnecessary in most parts. I LOVE Gaga's screams, they're fierce, and I am not one to diss Gaga for no reason, but I really didn't like what she did with this song. P!nk covered the song a few years ago and she did a fantastic job. Deal with it.

Those who didn't like it aren't attacking the ones who liked it and generalizing. Why do you feel like you have to group all the ones who didn't enjoy it and question their taste in music when you clearly don't even know what they listen to?

I've heard Pink's version and it's soooo boring. Gaga isn't thinking about how to sing the song, she's just feeling it and letting it rip. Sometimes this kind of emotional display is more preferable than controlled vocals. It's just different tastes / sensibilities.

I remember watching that Pink concert live on TV and I was amazed by that performance, although looking back it probably had a lot to do with the phenomenal audience (Italian crowds  ), but still I think her version did the song more justice while Gaga overdid the entire thing, from the singing to the screaming to the attitude. I'm not saying she faked it, that is probably how she felt the song and how she felt she wanted to sing it, I just didn't like it much. It's a shame because I adore that song and I'd love Gaga to sing this kind of classic more often, like Don't Cry by Guns 'n Roses or Zombie by The Cranberries.

I hate it.  :(  I just can't stand that growly, scratchy thing she does with her voice. Ah well, you win some you lose some.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

wtf! :wtf: P!nk's version is incredible, she definitely transmits her emotions when singing the song... you don't have to scream to show your feelings when singing this type of emotional songs!

I'm so hyped for a rock album with amazing vocals!

Maybe this was a little 'overscreamed' but look at the vocal variety we got in one song: quiet to loud, low to high, screams, raspy vocals, falsetto...  :duck: I want this on the next album instead of the monotone auto-tuned vocals we got on most ARTPOP songs.

I hope she is properly training her vocals. Those screams were really intense..

It was a good performance but those screams had me worried a bit.

OK, time to be honest. She did a decent job with this song which imo is one of the most iconic and emotional songs ever written.

HOWEVER, I think she oversang it (the final verses feel dragged), she growled too much (worse than Xtina), and I didn't feel much emotion, like she took all the meaning and the feeling out of the song and made it an opportunity to showcase her exhaustivelly addressed "diversity" as an entertainer. And the song has a total different vibe, it's angry but it's intimate...not to mention she went to the last chorus before the band and screwed up some lyrics.

So, I think she has to be PRETTY CAREFUL if this is the path she wants to take for her new album...She so wrong if she think she can growl her way through it, the critics are gonna wreck her apart and she better be ready for it...It was entertaining, but unpolished. And that's all I'm gonna say for the moment.

P.S: The quality of the audio + video: :legend: Gimme that artRAVE DVD in time for Christmas! (probably too much to ask lol)

THIS. It's as if you've read my mind lol

Also, i think that she was probably trying to get Linda Perry's attention. She looked more 'punky-rocky-attituted' than usual... and the fact that she uploaded official live footage and mentioned Linda on twitter says a lot to me. I just hope she's not desperate to find new famous producers that believe in her and can produce the new musical possibilities she's looking for.
