I kinda want her to go into that fun/ happy/ careless dance song direction - with her enthusiasm - I think she will both stand out and gain back the GP interest. Would be fun wouldn't it? After all the heartbreaks and betrayals, I think it's time for her to be happy!  :sara:

Maybe she just meant the same success she had with TFM?

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Notice she said WRITE - that means lyrical quality and themes. Not ape the production and sound.

TFM is her most highly regarded album by both critics and the GP. It won a pop album Grammy.

Since then her lyrical quality has been more uneven, and critics mocked some material on ARTPOP.

I wish she hadn't said this (I doubt she said it to be perfectly honest). It just brings out those TFM stans who like to crap all over her other albums.

One Five Ten

I think a lot of us are looking back at TFM with rose-coloured glasses. The album is lauded because it was so different for the time. Now, everybody replicates that sound.

If Gaga really truly wants to get back to that success, she needs to create something progressive (which she has been attempting [and mostly succeeding] with BTW and ARTPOP). Those albums just weren't lucky enough to be managed as well as TFM was.

In a single week, she and RedOne wrote and recorded her album's first three singles: "Just Dance," "Poker Face" and "LoveGame." "I just felt so free," she recalls, "and there was nothing in my way."

This is from her RS interview....see, she made smashes in 1 week...she  doesn't need months to come up with something good

shes already surpassed the fame monster, it gets boring half way through. people who think that is the pinnacle of her songwriting need to learn a thing or two or grow up in their taste. for ****s sake let her grow.. i hate when she over praises her basic early work just to appease her basic ass fans im ****in sick of it.

But I love how everyone is glossing over the fact she admitted the puking was for attention and not art.

Which kinda bothered me because beforehand she was telling everyone in interviews the performance had a message?

Why do I get the impression she's being purposefully mis-leading with pretty much everything she said here? (I don't think it's a bad thing, but I don't think we should look too much into this).

wow that was a waste of time to read, everyone needs to realise she's sick of everyone asking about the next album

I think she was just dumbing herself down for the fan. This is fan-speak. I don't think she ever plans on doing "another TFM."

Exactly! I thought it'd be obvious to anyone reading that... But apparently I was wrong about that.  :duck:

hmmmm I'm not necessarily here for a retread, and I don't believe that TFM is her creative peak in the slightest (sorry), but whatever she is feeling musically is fine by me.

I also do not get those fans who are stuck in the TFM era, praise TFM as her magnus opus and seem to want to prevent her from evolving. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for the rest of us, Gaga is and has always been continually evolving at the speed of light.

Whatever's she's going to put out next, it's near certain it will be just as unique, beautiful, complex, paradigm-shifting and brimming with inventive approaches and meaningful social commentary blended into multi-layered gems as she always does. And especially because she actually has a team now that respects art and the artistic process so she can give her genius free reign as it was before and always should be. Whatever she's feeling musically is fine by me too because I trust her completely. I also don't think she was necessarily talking about treading old ground, it was fan-speak to say that she's ready to rock the world (which is kind of her thing, as we all know).

"after the CtC tour she's gonna just go and write"

first tour date: july..... :nooo: FML

But hey, look on the bright side: Don't you want her to be able to create her next album at her best, at her own pace and not being pushed around and pressured by money-grubbing idiots who have no respect for her creative genius?  :gaga:

She means musically, not reception-wise.

Yes Gaga, I believe you can do that. The Fame Monster is your best album to date. It has timeless music and art fused with pop. It is unique. As much as I love ARTPOP, the main point was that even though it was a steller album it wasn't unique in a way that The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, and even Cheek to Cheek are. ARTPOP does have a fresh air about it (Do What U Want, Dope, Aura etc.) but it somehow isn't as unique as other albums by you. But I understand that at first you wanted a wholely different music for ARTPOP than it sounds from what you have today. I know you had a lot of pressure. It's ok. Bit I have complete faith in you and I know you can deliver a unique pop album.
