Have you seen some of these? i do think they are strong contributing factors but not the sole ones. i think that feelings of anger and mistrust and probably war to some degree would have occurred without the religion, but i doubt that without the religion there would ever have been the support or gathering of worldwide muslims to join the struggle against the west/infidels/whoever. because it's the religion that binds these people who have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and it's the religion that's used to convey and justify the terrorism and war and politics they use in "retaliation". even if it's "bad" religion, or wrong, or a misinterpretation. fighting for the religion and "their" people (who again, are only united through believing in the same god) that seems to ultimately be the most seductive thing for them. as for those things you shared, i hadn't seen them before and yes that's dreadful and makes them look just as bad. obviously i don't agree with it. but i don't think those things are quite on the same level or degree of severity as the antagonist religion's methods. As an atheist I could go out and kill someone right now. That doesn't meant I killed them for atheism. Well we don't know that. Same way we don't know if each crime committed by a Muslim is religiously motivated. Yes it's true, religion is used to justify, but I don't think it's the only or main thing that motivates these people. I think they just hide behind it. In their twitter and FB pages they're using videos and photos of crimes committed by Syrian regime or by Iraqi shiia militant groups, they are playing with people's emotions, they're asking them to help and fight. But the Christian side would rather sit and watch a war on TV than go cut someone's head off. You'll see them on facebook saying "just nuke 'em all!". They have the same extremist attitudes at their enemy, but they are more complacent to their government. That's the only difference in my book. well The christian side Isnt kill someone. If white American Christians weren't so busy sitting in front of their screens in their air conditioned homes, they would probably be just as extremist as the Islamic extremists. That's like IS saying all Christians are not allowed to live in Muslim countries and then go off and behead them for being "infidels" or like IS saying they want all the Kurds out of Muslim countries Muslims are not that bad. They are hardworking and charitable. It's just the bad Muslims giving the rest a bad name. It's like gangsta rap giving black people and hiphop culture a bad name or AIDS giving the LGBT community a bad name AIDS isn't a "choice" the same way being an extremist or gangsta rap. It's the slutty people, s-x shows and those who don't use protection (which is a huge portion of the community, at least on apps like Grindr and Jackd) that give the LGBT community a bad name. (And yes, sadly, I was part of that "slutty" community for a while too, mostly due to my substance abuse.) In West Europe it's insanely difficult to find a decent, moral gay guy, at least through online dating, clubbing and apps. Maybe there's a channel I haven't discovered yet. And usually the ones that are decent are only that because they're too unattractive to be slutty like the rest of the community. Anyway going too off-topic. Beheadings, scary!
