Lady Gaga Throws Shade at Madonna in New Interview

The source doesn't go anywhere for me. Also if this is true its kind of annoying because Madonna is working with Natalia kills and tons of young artists. She just doesn't like gaga because she thinks gaga stole her music. Gaga needs to address that if she's going to talk about it. Otherwise its irrelevant.

Strange thing to say. I would've expected Gaga to still say Madonna without a doubt (as in without the "I would say Madonna but...").

but w/e it's her prerogative

Also it's funny how people her hate Madonna "because she's a bully", but it can't go a single day without people bully Katy. Do the Gaga fans have some sort of license to bully? :smh:

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

Quick translation of the full interview:

What did you think of Greece? This was the first time you had a show in our country.

Greece is one of the most important countries in the world. My stay and my show in Athens are something I will always remember. I personally felt an amazing connection with the culture of Greece. All three days I stayed there I was shocked with the amount of people that were waiting outside the hotel. I loved Athens and I had a lot of walks in the historic city center. It was my first show in Greece and of course I’m coming back whenever you call me.

Your new album is called Cheek to Cheek and you collaborating with singer and jazz legend Tony Bennett. The album got released 20 days ago. It’s something completely different than what we’ve used to have you doing all these years.

I was always an erratic character. I’ve been admiring jazz since I was 13 and I really wanted to try it. Frank Sinatra once said that Tony Bennett is his favorite artist, something I realized too when I met him. He’s very generous and it’s a big honor working with him. I’m proud of all my previous songs and I’m not regretting anything from my past. Cheek To Cheek is an album I really wanted to make. I think I’m at my best at the moment, both vocally and professionally. I would also like to note that Tony was with me in Athens those 3 days. Of course nobody noticed because we didn’t made an appearance together.

You recently had a new trumpet tattoo on your arm. Reports say that your father was furious about it. Is it true?

The truth is my father isn’t happy every time I get a tattoo, but I got it in a place where I could be both a lady and a tramp (referring to the song with Tony).

During the Born This Way Ball Tour you broke your hip. This, plus exhaustion caused you to cancel it. You work non stop. Do you do it for the money or is it more of a personal need?

No, I’m not doing it for the money. After my first songs, which became big hits, I had no longer money issues. But when you’re an artist, you get addicted and you always want to do things. That’s why you need to have the right people around you, who will protect you, meaning that they will stop before they start treating you like a product. Unfortunately during the Born This Way Ball they didn’t protect me and treated me like a piece of meat. Like I was disposable and the moment I stopped making them profit, they moved to the next artist.

The gay community loves you. Some would say that you built your career around it. Is it something you’re really into, or did you do it for marketing reasons?

It was something completely unexpected. My first hit (Just Dance) was first acknowledged by the gay community. Of course later in my career my songs had appeal on everyone and I’m really thankful for that. My favorite song is You and I, and also Bad Romance, which people have linked me to most.

Who are your musical influences?

David Bowie, Queen, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson. I would like to say Madonna, but let me tell you something. If I was an established artist, I would love to help younger artists.

So, are you implying that Madonna has no soul?

You said it, not me!

After many years, what’s the thing you would want to follow you.

Because I’ve been bullied myself, I think of the youth a lot. Even if a single kid finds comfort in one of my songs, that would be the biggest success for me. There’s a message into everything I do. When I wore meat on my head and body, I didn’t do it for fun. I wanted to show that some people treat us like a piece of meat.

Add it in the OP if possible.

this isn't about Katy Perry, I just wanted to show that Gaga isn't some angel. And reductive? Really? That's not like the worst possible insult you can give.

I don't understand. Madonna has done more charity work than Gaga if my memory serves me correct. Someone please explain.  :coffee:

Gaga is saying that if she had the influence to help young, new artists, she would.

Madonna didn't help her, she went after her.

Fans bully other artists all the time. Artists don't bully other artists. Especially if the artist is middle aged woman.

my name is nothing about pun between my name abbreviation + DNA acronym sorry :coffee:

anyway you said that lady gaga said something worse that "reductive" by posting a thought about something obvious that it wasn't an insult to katy nor to her career. By saying "reductive" you're belittling someone career or persona, so madonna was offensive...

Gaga has no case with Katy, she did not invent green hair nor mechanical horses. Madonna didn't put Gaga or her persona down. She thought BTW was too similar to EY.

Fans bully other artists all the time. Artists don't bully other artists. Especially if the artist is middle aged woman.

So? Everyone is still human beings. Bullying isn't ok no matter what.

Don't complain about bullying if you're a bully yourself. Stones.. glass house you know.

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
