Ronk 14,762
ARTPOP the album does not equal depressed. She loves the album. And because it didn't perform AS WELL as her previous albums, that does not mean it's bad. This. ARTPOP is great and she knows it. And it's what she wanted to do as an artist, so she is happy that it was released. Now we are learning that the minimal amount of promo, singles, and videos were not her doing, but were the doing of people who were in a position to decide. It turns out that Gaga has less control over such things than we thought. This all comes down to the OP. Fans blamed Gaga for everything that went wrong with the ARTPOP era, they did not give her the benefit of the doubt. This is what could hurt Gaga's feelings; her fans turning on her when things got rough. And it turns out that Gaga wanted more promo, singles, and videos, but was not allowed. We knew starting early on in her career that, like a friend, Gaga is always there for her fans. We knew it, but forgot it. I probably fret over such things much more than Gaga does. For all we know, she is above the fray and unconcerned about what people are saying. Her thoughts are probably on designing and writing the next project and even the one after that. I live outside the space time continuum.
geopang 4,831
Shes obviously seen negativity on this site since she stopped visiting. It's like seeing your friends talk about you behind your back except she can see all of it.

La Primavera 13
Both. Happy when we support her and send her lovely tweets and fanmail and stuff. Sad when we complain about what she does and tell her what she should have done or should do.

Miker 5,683
There are tears of happiness and sadness. I would think she would be able to deflect many things that her ungracious fans do after years of experience but anything can influence her emotions, one way or another on any given day. Mars..........or bust!
Schwerk 7,246
Im pretty sure both. You have fans that support literally everything she does, then you have fans who support mostly everything but arent afraid to give their opinion, and finally you have the fans are complain and are critical towards everything she does. Its not news that Gaga has clearly seen these critical fans so im sure it does make her sad. I feel that during her despression, after feeling her team let her down, she felt she let herself down and her fans too. Going to fansites and reading negativity or even constructive criticism doesn't help when you feel that down. Her statement on not visiting GGD back then seemed pretty harsh to me and unfair, but it was wise of her to 'ignore' her fans for a bit. I think now, looking back, she understands most of the fans behaviour stems from the strong bound she has created with them and the comments are based on genuine concern and wanting nothing but the best for her. She couldn't hide that everthing was going wrong and that made everything even more confronting and complex. We know her too well and sense when things are off. I do hope she doesn't only make music for the fans anymore like she often states. All her fans are extremely different. One is a gay kid who loves pop and EDM, the other a girl thats into guitarrock, another a 55 year old guy who loves her voice and passionate shows. I want her to make music for herself, from the heart, follow her gut, if she does, her fans will love it. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
Born To Slay 10,996
We aren't her friends, we are her customers and if she does something her customers don't like, then the customers have the right to complain about the product.

If my friend did sth bad I can tell him that in his face instead hiding it. We cant say what we don't like in Gagas face

Yes, customers have the right to complain about a product, but to say unkind things to try to take someone down emotionally or to spread misinformation about somebody or take them out of context is just plain mean. It's the way opinions are expressed that makes all the difference. We are not her friends though Actually, she treats her fans as friends, which sets her apart from many artists. Those who are here not just for her music think of her as a friend. I live outside the space time continuum.
