Slayer 9,227
I'm confused about what they said about her stylist. I thought they parted ways amicably? Did they have a fight? I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
GHGUY 230
Sigh. She praised Taylor in the past I guess now that Taylor is clearly more successful than her, she has to hate on her too I was so hoping for a collab one day Cuz Taylor sold out by switching from country to pop.... Gaga isn't a sellout
Echo 327
Awww I wonder if she's actually getting married next year! That sounds so awesome. Happy she is getting some kind of grip on everything.
BlondeQueenOfGGD 25,454
Can a certain troll who isn't a Gaga fan just leave this thread ? It's getting annoying
swine killer 0
I agree but her saying she will not relegate herself to other pop stars is very shady and rude. She is saying that she does not want people to lower her to their level in order to compare them. She should have just said "I don't want to be compared to them because we have different artistic intentions" and left it at that. She didn't have to throw in that she feels like she is above them or a better artist. Her statement doesn't go against feminism because like you said, being a feminist doesn't mean you have to like, agree with, or support all females. It does go against her commintment to promoting kindness and anti-bullying. How is what Gaga said any different to Mandonna calling Born This Way reductive? Well I wasn't around back then and I never followed that feud so I don't really know. I only know that Born This Way does NOT sound like Express Yourself, not matter how hard Madonna is trying to convince the world. Yes Gaga could have said it differently I agree, but however I don't think that she was particularly rude. Thanks btw for understanding the feminist part. I can't understand that I have to argue with some Gaga-fans about feminism and what it's really about. They should by now understand. Yes I am throwing shade.. No Angel 128
Good read. I loooove how she name dropped Maya Angelou; a woman who doesn't get much praise from mainstream Feminism. It's cool seeing Gaga come a long way from her '09 comments. Why would you want her to go back to those misguided views on the Feminism movement, though? What the hell...? Anyways, she seems like she's in a better place musically and mentally. Can't wait for the next pop album.
lairofhk 935
Sorry but I'm so tired of her painting herself as a victim. I also kind of feel like she lies about most of what she says, it just seems fake.
AquaFire Witch 160
I love the fact that ppl called me deluded when the exact words and phrasing that gaga used clearly state that she wont put down herself to the level of those singers. and that is exactly what Madonna did to her calling her work reductive and something so many years after that she keeps complaining about it in interviews. Just because she said she doesn't mean it in a mean way doesn't take anything away from the meaning of what she said:) it shows some bitterness coming from her you know why :) Well what Gaga said is true. She doesn't want to be apart of the money making marketing machine that controls those other pop stars. She speaking from a POV that experienced it herself. And in my opinion it's not just pop music. Hip-hop is so deluded right now I cringe to even call it that. It's all commerical garbage! Madonna doesn't even really make commerical music either. She does the music that she likes regardless, but her comments about Gaga wasn't coming from a nice place. Oh and Gaga's definition of feminism is her own opinion. She said that in the interview! aaronyoji 2,054
Yes. I'd rather not stan for some stuck up sjw who thinks feminism means equality. feminism does mean equality and if you think otherwise jesus you are beyond help. and ur a lana stan so yeah that already says a lot about your distorted views on feminism. i hate that she said that all those years ago, it was an ignorant and misguided statement, why do fans who want her to revert to her fame days always cling to every little thing she says back then and hold her to it to no end??? SinAgain 33
P.S. I wouldn't call Maya Angelou a "stuck up sjw who thinks feminism means equality" outloud infront of anyone. They're going to assume you're either a terrible person or completely ignorant or both. I'm honestly embarassed for you. I am here to say I agree with everything you said and also be embarrassed for the one who cant grasp the concept of feminism. It would be great is feminism still meant equality. I have no doubt that at one time that's what it stood for. It's simply not the case anymore. Gaga had the right idea about it before. No one who likes men should support feminism, which clearly only stands for hate and spreading misinformation. Are women being killed in broad daylight for being women like lgbt people are? Are they really being systematically discriminated against anymore? Not in the US. Not in any civilized country. Here they have more rights than men and have the 100% bias of the legal system. Feminism isn't needed - it needs to be scaled back. Just stop. You are so wrong on so many levels and are simply spreading the misinformation you apparently don't enjoy. Run while you can. Also, being a Lana stan has nothing to do with this. I don't call myself an antifeminist because her work has been associated with it She herself hasn't put herself on either side of the issue, merely saying she is sick of the concept. I don't really blame her for that because it seems that online people have to go on and on about feminism when there are far more important things to be worried about. Are women being killed in broad daylight for being women like lgbt people are? Are they really being systematically discriminated against anymore? Not in the US. Not in any civilized country. You should educate yourself before posting this kind of mindless dribble. How can someone be so insensitive and uninformed about gender inequality on this forum is beyond my understanding. SpaceAce 1,058
Run from what? Some sjws who are mad that someone has the audacity to challenge their dogma and twisted view of the world? I don't think so. Also, please try to come at me with actual arguments next time rather than vague threats. You've yet to respond to my explanation. Clearly you just don't want to be confronted with reality.
JazzGa 14,621
That would not surprise me in the least. I don't think so. Also, please try to come at me with actual arguments next time rather than vague threats. What Gaga said about not being a feminist was when she was like 23. She's 28 now, and you certainly grow and learn a lot in those years. You read books, you hear thoughts, and you change the way you think. At 23 Gaga was immature, and didn't really understand the concept of feminism. She is older and wiser now, and her answer is more mature. You can't expect Gaga to hold the same beliefs she had when she was 23. You have to accept she'll grow and learn and mature. I understand your point of view. And I think you are right to some extent. But you are fighting a lost cause. You can't "not be a feminist", because that's being hostil and confrontational. You are essentially trying to destroy the word because it has lost it's original meaning and has been completely twisted. To the point where, to an intelligent mind, is evidently complete bull****. But STILL, by declaring yourself not a feminist, you are flame-baiting. You are looking for conflict. It has no other purpose, because everyone is obviously a feminist by definition, and you are too. And you know it. But your problem is not the concept, but the idiotic clowns that cling to it. So you're essentially looking for conflict. So stop it. It's worthless, it's a waste of time Oh, I'm just visiting-
SpaceAce 1,058
I actually agree with quite a bit of your post earlier. There are definitely problems facing women throughout the world that needs to be addressed. There are truly some places in the world that need gender equality. You want to call feminism women's rights? Go ahead. Just stop saying that feminism = equality because that is obviously not the truth. You cannot hope to increase the general welfare of all people on the earth by only focusing on one group and purposefully excluding everyone else. Please, give me your definition of equality. I don't think we're working with the same tools here.
