It has nothing to do with liking Kesha or disliking katy (wtf?), its about giving the victim the benefit of the doubt. Of course the general rule is 'innocent until proven guilty' but with instances of s-xual abuse i think its different, its damaging to people who have been through s-xual abuse to fear that if they bring it up then they will be accused of lying and nothing will come of it, so i believe with cases like these, until the final verdict is given, the victim should be given the benefit of the doubt. plus, he is/was basically in charge of her whole career, he could/can ruin her in this industry, so no wonder it took a long time for her to come forward. I think Luke has as much to lose as Kesha. She has fans who will believe her (unlike him), and in our feminist age society does tend to side with alleged female victims. Being accused of s-x crimes and abuse is one of the most damaging charges one can face, especially for someone producing music aimed at young women. I think she's actually a very sweet, genuine person who has talent, she just hasn't been allowed to express it. When she went to rehab and I heard all about the Dr Luke thing, I really felt for her. Incidentially, I notice that in the video for Timber, she's looking especially thin. It was probably at this point that her problem was really getting out of control. Reading all this now, if it is true, I really hope she wins and Luke is banished from the industry. I sincerely hope none of it is exaggerated or made up as it'll ruin any potential comeback for her and move the public away from her side. I did think it was odd how she was complaining about being controlled and wanting to get out of her contract and just as it seemed that she was stuck in this 6 album contract forever...she announces she has an eating disorder, apparently been brought on by her controlling producer that she's been complaining about and is sent to rehab. I'm not saying it was made up, but it strikes me as weirdly convenient. Now this dirty laundry is all coming out and it makes me wonder why she waited this long and why she brings it up now, when her relationship with Luke has completely soured. I understand the victim mentality thing of accepting abuse and being afraid to speak up, it's just that its reveal has been timed to perfection. Maybe it's just all a coincidence but it sure does appear suspicious. But at the end of the day, I don't think Kesha would go up against an industry heavyweight like Luke if she wasn't being truthful. If you're fighting against someone famous who's high in the pecking order and you're lying, you will be exposed. So, if Kesha's prepared to take that risk, this must be legit. Whatever the case, it's clear that Luke's been really horrible to her and Kesha is in a really bad situation with her contract. She deserves a label and manager who respect her, that much is clear. Why wouldn't he just avoid a lawsuit and drop her from the contract, why would he even want to work with her at this point anyways? She hates his guts. Disgusting man. She's a strong, beautiful, smart, and talented girl and one of the brightest people in music in my opinion. Hopefully after this lawsuit is settled and Luke hopefully looses, things will start getting a lot better for her. She deserves it. You think he's settle damn quick if he know their was elements of truth to the s-xual abuse allegations. Maybe he just doesn't want to be extorted. Any rich famous celeb is vulnerable to trumped about charges. She obviously wants to get out of her contract and her mother seems to be orchestrating a great deal of this. She doesn't seem to be mentally okay and she is manipulable. Obviously Luke was terrible to her, but she just wants to milk this opportunity for all that it has. Let's not pretend like she wouldn't make any of this up for her image. What reason would he have to not let her out of the contract? Warrior was a major flop. She didn't even tour. He was making money off of her. The only reason to keep her is to control her, which seems indicative of much darker things, especially considering they met when she was 18. A forty year old man spending all of his time around teenage girls, where have I seen that before? So let's not pretend like this is unbelievable, because it definetely is.
