She maybe drowned in bikini. Do I seriously need to find another article? This stuff happens all the time. A few years ago (this happened near me), a girl drowned in her Jacuzzi because her hair got caught in the filter. If you're wearing loose material, you're a lot more prone to getting caught. & the video mentions nothing about her wearing a "proper" swimsuit. I could be wrong, but it looked like she was wearing loose pants and a long top I can't watch the video at the moment. Did she want to swim or was she just nearby because of her kids? A pool is not a river where practices like this are used in other countries. I wouldn't want people bringing in laundry where you need to have a shower with soap before you enter a pool for hygienic purposes. Mars..........or bust! In this case I'm agree with the "pool", especially for the hygiene-safety reasons, if there is a "dress" code based on safety reasons you have to respect that, it's not like the story of the boxer vs slip. I don't wanna sound rude but these people can't expect to live in a modern occidental country (like USA) with their ancient traditions at all and demand to be accepted, especially if we talk about the burqua-veil issue, also because if a occidental woman go to their country has to put the veil and follow their rules with no objections. Which country? Western women don't HAVE to put veil, many just do out of respect, there are many without veil working in Jeddah or Ryadh, Saudi Arabia, which is considered most strict. She also wasn't wearing a burkini although, the official for the swimming pool said that burkini's are allowed and they are going to update their swimware brochure to include it. It also implied that she had a dress type garment over it, but I don't know about that. She was pretty clearly breaking the rules, but burkini's should definitely be allowed. She probably went in with the whole gown for all we know. Well if it happens ALL THE TIME then it wouldn't be hard to find where "burqini" caught in filter was reason for someone's drowning. And even then, one case wouldn't make a rule but an exception. Again, in your example it was the hair, it doesn't mean pools should ban swimming with open long hair. Celina 118 Posted October 14, 2014 Share Posted October 14, 2014 they aren't discriminating against her because she's muslim. it was her clothing causing a safety issue. the sign is there for anyone to see. the real problem here is that people are used to their religion trumping anything and everything. felt bad for her because she was crying, but wearing a full body swimsuit is not going to send you to hell. the fact that these women are scared to show their arms and legs in public because they've been indoctrinated as children is what's really troubling.
