Many court watchers had expected the nation's top court would hear at least one same-s-x marriage case. But now, with today's announcement, all stays on same s-x marriage will "disappear," to quote NBC News' Pete Williams, albeit not overnight. The lower court rulings will now go into effect for all same-s-x marriage cases, meaning same-s-x marriage is now or will shortly be legal in Utah, Oklahoma, Virgina, Indiana, and Wisconsin." I will await the meltdowns. It's crazy how fast this whole thing is moving... I know that there will have to be a supreme court decision later in the next year or so that responds to some state's petition for gay marriage... and this definitely indicates that they are going to take the issue very seriously (and hopefully vote in our favor) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Like this day is both HISTORIC and sweeping for marriage equality and has a variety of implications. It's surprising how a community such as this isn't discussing this more, seeing as how important it is to most of us.
