I don't think there's much hate for it nowadays, I think people were just disappointed at the time because we knew the original treatment so were expecting something much different. People were expecting an extravagant love story, with an iconic director, mermaids and excitement. What they got was very different. THIS like wtf happened. We kinda were when she was hyping up the birth of Yuyi which didn't happen until the You and I video. Plus the treatment leak and cast listing bulletin couldn't have helped on top of Boomkack giving some hype to it. I honestly think TEOG would've went #1 had the video happened as originally intended. Shadow 6,625 Posted October 7, 2014 Share Posted October 7, 2014 I think when Clarence Clemons passed away, it changed the dynamics of the video, because instead of having this crazy video full of creative scenes, she probably wanted to simplify it to give Clarence more light and echo to shine and be heard.
