OT: I think what's key to C2C's success, as well as Gaga's future success, is going to be longevity. Both of her last two albums have had good first weeks, stayed in the top 10 for a bit, and then dropped off. If C2C sells a lot over a long period of time, then I think it'll set Gaga up to be more successful in the future.

With some extra promo in November-December, C2C has the potential to be one of only 4 albums to reach platinum this year [Taylor, Barbra, Sam].

Gaga will surpass U2, they pissed off way too many people. I find it surprising that ANYONE is willing to buy their album. :duck:

How much of a impact do you think will the PBS special have? I remember everybody gushing about the Muppets Spectacle 2 or 3 weeks before it aired and it had almost 0 impact and ratings were low as hell. :toofunny:

In BTW's case everyone always took the maximum number. I've even seen the 9M figure bandied around :ohwell:

Seems weird that in ARTPOP's case everyone would go for the minimum amount :classy:

Ikr. But I've also seen some even pushing that BTW hasn't crossed the 6M mark yet because that's what Mediatraffic reported at the end of 2011. I mean, come on. If we're all going for the minimum, then TF/TFM's numbers should just be at 14M max. Vivendi, UMG's parent company, even reported less. Prior to BTW's release, their numbers for TF/TFM were at 12.4M only. But everyone's using the 15M figure released by the label with their press releases anyway. If the album's branded with success, let's go for the maximum. If the album's branded for being a flop, let's go for the minimum.   :toofunny:

At the end of the day, the numbers most people are gonna read would be from the labels (because major publications are supplied with info from the labels, and not from sites whose audience is from the online pop forums). And those numbers are likely not the actual sales. They're mostly shipments under the vague term "estimated sales". And everyone's using this. That's the norm and it won't change until someone reputable could track everything with every single retailer in the world.
