Do What You Want could've been her biggest hit since Bad Romance. It probably could've even nipped at BR's heels

Not really. The monster by Rihanna and Eminem steal all the big support, but it had a chance to become a bigger hit than Applause, especially outside of US.

The Monster was one of the weakest number ones in recent memory, if the DWUW video was good enough and got enough views I think it could have snatched the number one if it been released right before The Voice performance

Gaga could simply say the album is coming out" in march", and simply drop it out of nowhere. But still release the lead single, do promo and so on.

The Monster was an international boom, bigger than other #1s of the time like Timber or Dark Horse (which was huge in the US but not that popular in other countries, unlike Roar)

I don't see Gaga debuting with huge numbers anymore. Monsters need to learn to expect the worst, but hope for the best. Most fan's predictions are way too high.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the lead single debuts with less than 250K and the album less than 200K. It depends on lots of factors, but I think that's being pretty realistic.

That was being super optimistic :sis: Everyone all up in here thinking she will debut over 300K. We can expect some more ridiculous meltdowns then :sis:
