Last week, a number of Grammy performers and winners had strong sales increases just from digital sales the night of the broadcast. With a full week of sales activity now posted for this week, those artists continue to get a big payoff from the show. Sam Smith edges 4-3 with a 118% sales increase to 124,000 units, the highest one week sales total for the album since its first week of release in June 2014. Ed Sheeran’s “X†also posts its highest one week sales total since its debut week, with a 67% gain to 89,000 units, while his debut album “+,†posts a 161% gain. The “2015 Grammy Nominees†compilation moves 9-7 with a 92% increase. Album of the year winner Beck leaps 25-8 with a 466% gain and Hozier’s self-titled album jumps 13-10 with a 62% gain. Other big movers from Grammy performers include Sia 30-22 (+117%), AC/DC 31-26 (+63%), Annie Lennox 134-29 (+341%), Ariana Grande 42-31 (+71%), Miranda Lambert 48-36 (+72%) and Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga 57-41 (+76%).
