I don't get why many people are sure Gypsy would perform well. We already experienced that with GUY, which is worse of course, but imho also half-baked.

Because Gypsy already sold more than G.U.Y. without being a single? :awkney:

ARTPOP just wasn't meant to smash, ever if her team had it's sh*t together.

Too many people were determined to backlash Gaga, and EDM dance-pop was in decline. Almost every pop girl struggled in late 2013 early 2014. Even Katy just did okay considering the era she was coming off and amount of promo.

Gaga sales are more like:

TF: 7,5m

M: 8,5m

The Remix: 1m

BTW: 6m (without the amazon promo)

AP: 1,8m

CTC: 400k

Her others stuffs are not higher than 200k or I forget something.

She's at +25m

It's not the perfect numbers and I'm sure TF & M are higher... But from what I remember it's not that far, she's a great seller actually, but saying ARTPOP is at 3m is the same as Gaga when she said she sold her first album 20m (pleeeeeaaassse) even when she talked about her two first, it's just false.

But I think I bored people by speaking about this. So I stop.

The Fame, as the original debut album, only moved 4.6M WW by the end of 2009. And that's according to Vivendi's 2009 annual report for its stakeholders. For argument's sake (shipments vs. reported sales from an independent source), since it's from the label's parent company, we could refer this as "shipments". TF(M), according to the same report, has moved 7.8M WW (3M for 2009, 4.8M for 2010) by the end of 2010. Prior to BTW's release, the combined "shipments" for TF + TF(M) then should be at 12.4M. However, as early as 2010, the 15M figure for TF/TFM was already floating around. Here's an article, published in November 2010 by Agence France-Presse, one of the leading global news agencies. Which one of these two were "shipments" then?

Same goes with BTW's WW sales. According to Vivendi's annual report for 2011, BTW sold 6.8M WW. Again, for argument's sake, let's call this as "shipments" since they came from the label's parent company. However, by the end of 2011, the 8M figure for BTW was released, which was picked up by Billboard itself. Again, which of these two were "shipments"?

And for 2013, Vivendi reported 2.3M sales for ARTPOP. That's the same source which reported 12.4M for TF/TFM by the end of 2010 and 6.8M for BTW by the end of 2011. If Vivendi's reports are "shipments", they could've released the higher available numbers for TF(M) and BTW to mirror the reports being published in the mainstream media, but they didn't.

Those who are familiar to annual reports of publicly traded corporations know that the info being published in these reports should be truthful, because they're reporting to the public who invested money to their company, and no one else. One cannot simply published misleading info in this kind of reports, especially if it involves sales. If it's a loss, then it should be reported as a loss. If it's sales, then it should be clearly labeled as such. That's how annual reports should work, and I'm confident Vivendi does observe that basic rule in business.

The best song on ARTPOP, ha power. Has it passed above 150k? If so, let's hope it passes 250k by 2016. Half of a gold.  :legend:

I think it's only close to 100k.

But we all know by 2016 it'll already be 7x platinum after it becomes a single in a couple of months :legend:
