Around 1.8M or something.

But "wrong" is an incorrect and inappropriate term to describe the info being released by IFPI. Their info are official and are directly from the music industry itself. They're the only source for the worldwide state of the industry, which includes reporting annual revenues of the major markets (of w/c sites like MediaTraffic do not have access to) and the best-selling albums and singles. If they're releasing "wrong" info, then everyone in the industry must be kidding themselves.

A billion dollar industry controlled by multinational corporations (Vivendi, Sony, Access Industries - two of which are publicly traded, i.e. every info they release publicly should be verifiable) solely relies to IFPI to report whatever there is to report regarding the music industry as a whole. If it's ineffective and misleading, no one in the industry should therefore take their word seriously. Again, the audience of IFPI is the industry itself. The audience of MediaTraffic comes from the visitors of ATRL and other pop forums online. That alone should distinguish which is more reputable. No one outside the online pop forums would be able to read MediaTraffic's reports, because their presence and overall reputation are limited.

spill that tea :legend:

What irks me as well is that when the 8 million sales figure for Born This Way came up back in 2011, everybody said "oh that's just shipments" and used the IFPI 6 million figure as "real sales". And now you wanna tell me that IFPI is not credible because you think they use shipments as well? Mediatraffic is run by a 50-something-year-old bald German guy, that doesn't even access to the actual sales of his own home country.  :hor:

By estimation ARTPOP would be at 3-4 million shipments and 2,3 - 2,7 million sold solid.

So desilusional or doesn't want to know the real sales...

Born This Way is +6 millions and ARTPOP +1,8 millions (2,3m shipments) it's not only numbers that someone gave, but addition of sales that people charted since the album is out. On every reliable music forum like Charts In France those numbers are the one that are founded since those albums are out and tracked/charted every week.

And Gagadaily needs to follow those real numbers if the site wants to keep a credibility for sales and not become a hardcore "non-thinking" fans reputations site.

Forums, especially music forums, are NEVER reliable. Like ever.

Yes of course, people that take the numbers from each country, mediatraffic every week are less reliable that the labels that make the numbers of the artist bigger just to try to impress the public by making the numbers bigger.

It's like when people where saying or still say M.J sold 750m of albums when he's at 250-260m but doesn't knew anything about this.

Gaga sales are more like:

TF: 7,5m

M: 8,5m

The Remix: 1m

BTW: 6m (without the amazon promo)

AP: 1,8m

CTC: 400k

Her others stuffs are not higher than 200k or I forget something.

She's at +25m

It's not the perfect numbers and I'm sure TF & M are higher... But from what I remember it's not that far, she's a great seller actually, but saying ARTPOP is at 3m is the same as Gaga when she said she sold her first album 20m (pleeeeeaaassse) even when she talked about her two first, it's just false.

But I think I bored people by speaking about this. So I stop.

Poor Gaga. She didnt sell a copy of ARTPOP from last year, even if she toured the world. At this moment 1,8 or 2,3 arent real anymore not matter what. :toofunny:

But you should trust IFPI and Universal, because they count the money.
