At the same time a slow economic recovery combined with rising use of renewables and more fuel efficient cars, is stagnating world oil consumption. Last year in 2013 world consumptiom rose only 1% the lowest ever (in a non-recession year) With output rising but consumption barely rising, by simple laws of supply and demand oil prices will fall further. Were both developed Countries that have become more dependant on natural resources than traditional manifacturing Lemme ask u... Do u guys have crap with oil? Here in Canada the oil industry could expand much faster. We have the worlds 3rd largest oil reserves (176 billion barrels)... But due lack of pipeline and moving oil by train which is much less efficient the industry is booming slower than its full potential and environmentalists stop or delay every major project and nothing is getting done :roll: Canada has lost a lot of competitiveness. Were one of the least productive developed Nations and our manufacturing base has shrunk a lot and we depend on natural resources to sustain our prosperity and some Canadians dont get that :shrug: Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not only do politicians have their hands in it, but so do terrorist organizations, and in many ways, it holds the global economy hostage. In that case No In Norway we move the oil in tubes and not via trains. sometimes we use boats too but that's mostly if we are shipping the oil to other countries I think. I'm not sure where Norway lies in regards to competitiveness, but I think we're pretty high in the oil Market. by competitiveness i was refering to ability to attract manufacturing companies etc. Canada isnt great at that and if im not mistaken neither is Norway. Natural resources then is what we depend on most Oh and a big Corporate sector. We have a major financial market!
