craig 680
Losing is not the issue here. It is being penalized for even filing the case that’s wrong. Why? When Gaga is sued, she is penalized (legal bills) in having to defend against it. But often the person bringing the suit has a deal, where they don't have to pay their lawyer unless they win. Whispering 18,865
As for "why sue her back?", the alternative is implicitly to invite any writer with vaguely similar songs or personal connections to waste Gaga's time and energy with frivolous lawsuits. Exactly! And every time Gaga (as well as any other major label artist with a hit song), have to take time and money to defend these completely false and beyond ridiculous claims by people, who are just looking to make a buck off of someone with money. GypsyPrince 237
She repeated countless times she's penniless, so that's PRECISELY why she sued Gaga in the first place. Greed isn't going to get you anywhere, you made the choice for a quick shot at money, now it failed and you're crying about being bullied. SMH. Nick1495 991
Seriously guys I don't think we should be attacking her. She's expressing her frustration about this whole situation through this letter. It wasn't the smartest move but we have to sympathize that she probably freaking out about the sum she would have to pay from the countersuit. I know I would EDIT: please don't say I'm on her side. I'm more on a neutral side. She may have been greedy at the time because that's when Gaga was at her peak. But I don't think it was necessary to countersue tbh. I might agree with you more if I thought she was being entirely honest in the letter, but that's next to impossible for me to conclude from what she wrote there. What's to stop this same thing from happening to Gaga over and over?
Mama Ru 994
I feel bad for her in a way, but here's the thing: She filed a completely absurd lawsuit against the biggest popstar in the world (a coincidence, I'm sure) and is now faced with the consequences of filling a frivolous lawsuit. That's all this is to me. Im blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch.

What's to stop this same thing from happening to Gaga over and over? I guess that true. But what I really want to know is if Gaga really paid out of pocket to defend herself. For some reason I believe it's Interscope that at be suing for the money. I don't know whether to believe that Gaga would really sue for a measly 1.4 million. :/
Miker 5,683
This is how quickly a potential cash cow turns into debt. If you are willing to pluck the cherries watch out for the falling tree......... Mars..........or bust!
uo111 5,265
You guys, she will just file bankruptcy.... She isn't going to actually have to pay anything, she can't, she is a poor hoe who doesn't want to work for her money
Guest
Even before this letter was written I thought it was petty to sue her for 1.4 million dollars. I get it, she lost the case, but she has a life and family. How is she supposed to pay 1.4 million? Let it go.True. Her family can't be punished because of her. I'm really disappointed if Gaga and her team decide to sue her nonetheless.
Sakrai 4,759
True. Her family can't be punished because of her. I'm really disappointed if Gaga and her team decide to sue her nonetheless. It's most likely a publicity stunt. I'm almost completely sure she'll end up having to pay nothing at all. The whole case will transform into just signing many papers and reading boring documents. The point was to send a message to people thinking about suing them. Oh, I'm just visiting-

It's more than likely Interscopes lawyers doing the countersuit. Gaga seems to be more the type to just want stuff over with.
