I'm not  a big fan of his voice OR his music but it's great to see him getting such recognition!

 

ALSO, y'all are totally taking this the wrong way. She's fluffing up her words with a default/cliche commentary on current trends and promoting her 'authentic' era while she does it. Don't read TOO far into it.

I really, really don't think that's what she's saying at all. I'm pretty sure she's talking about the electronic sound, the computerised, man-made instruments that are used to make the music. And how there's a gradual shift in the trend of that sound, to more organic sounds with more real instruments. 

 

MTE. To be fair, I guess authentic was the wrong word to use & I can kind of see how it would be taken the wrong way at first, but it should still be clear that she's not trying to bash electronic music, or at the very least the music she has made.

also, surprisingly, her new album is her most important and favorite to date once again #hype&promo... I can't help but giggle every time I read something like that + wonder where is, let's say, BTW in her rank right now...

What bugs me the most :

quite some time before ARTPOP she was saying she is pissed every time someone says that EDM is soulless because that's so not true... now she says basically the same as those people...

either she likes to change what she says depending on what suits her better or she was lying back then and had known she was creating a soulless album but she made it anyway ?

that interview saddened me on so many levels just when I thought everything is ok again... don't kill me tho, that's IMO

She WILL say things that sound good to say and try to keep a good immage. All stars say things to look good and Gaga is no exeption

Hmm. I love her, but sometimes I feel like she gives into what she thinks people want to hear from her. Though me and her could be in agreement on how empty some certain EDM-lite hits are. There's a certain bland subset of the genre that sounds like it's endlessly trying to remake We Found Love.

She has won my heart with this album alllllll over again. This is a very important musical album. FOR HER! End of discussion. She is the musician, and being trapped in four chords and goey beat and a hook GETS OLD. THIS is MUSIC not the BLING. POP is BLING. This is MUSIC. THIS is more honestly an ARTPOP message.

 

Go through her previous discography and lay the first verse over the second verse and let the song play out...... NOTHING HAPPENS musically repetitive. SHE'S BORED. Is what she's saying. She's exploring. She's blooming again. More creative vibes to come and i LOVE it

She means whatever is her most current project will always get the most praise. A year or two from now she'll call C2C garbage and say she was being held back from writing her own jazz songs.

by authentic, I'm pretty sure she's talking about using instruments as opposed to synthesizers. a lot of Sam's music is like that. she's probably just wanting to use more guitars, violins (like on ARTPOP the song), trumpets, etc. I mean, you guys remember that twitter rant she went on about the flute solo on Nature Boy lol
