SpadesToStart 3,444
It's pretty obvious that there won't be much dance-pop on Gaga's next solo album. I guess Applause was our last club hit :/

Whispering 18,865
Anyway, considering #1, #2 and #3 in the UK at the moment is some form of EDM... I'm pretty sure she's just saying this to support her jazz album. I'm pretty sure she was complimenting another artist's work and was stating her opinion as to why he was so popular at this time. PopBitch 1,218
It's not important to me. Jazz does not move me at all. It's pretty. This moves me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf72ljWJqAY
Mich 397
Lol. I love her. She'll find any excuse to make up for a previous flopping album. Queeeeeeen #musicnotthebling

Brooke Hoegan 1,018
if it means acoustic/more jazz and so on... I'm not hungry for any more, I have C2C and that's just about right for me also, surprisingly, her new album is her most important and favorite to date once again #hype&promo... I can't help but giggle every time I read something like that + wonder where is, let's say, BTW in her rank right now... What bugs me the most : quite some time before ARTPOP she was saying she is pissed every time someone says that EDM is soulless because that's so not true... now she says basically the same as those people... either she likes to change what she says depending on what suits her better or she was lying back then and had known she was creating a soulless album but she made it anyway ? that interview saddened me on so many levels just when I thought everything is ok again... don't kill me tho, that's IMO
AquaFire Witch 160
I agree with Gaga on this one. BTW I say dance music, I'm old school. The dance I grew up on had a lot of SOUL. Today's pop/clubby music is blah. You're right Gaga. But I don't think she was talking about her MUSIC being trendy. She's never been trendy IMO. People pay too much attention to what she's wearing than what she is saying. She is a music JUNKIE as she just said on twitter the other day. That's evident to me. She's gonna do new things and she will go back to pop. She'll do it all. I see no need to stress over it! :) :) :) Sam Smith..........no.
Benji 20,113
I'm pretty sure she was complimenting another artist's work and was stating her opinion as to why he was so popular at this time. But slower and sometimes acoustic songs have always been popular. Sam Smith has had a hit (locally anyway) with a pop song too. Didn't Dope chart pretty well, considering it was promotional single? What about all the alternative artists consistently breaking into the top ten? There's always spots in the chart for these songs no matter what genre is currently influencing pop. Whispering 18,865
Dance Music shifted towards a more R&B sound in the last year. Ballads have become much more popular in the last two to three years. Unless you are one of the pop girls who is willing to sing the same hook over and over to some EDM music, true EDM is not working for most of the pop girls. None of those songs were in the top selling songs in the US in 2013 anyhow: Billboard's top-selling songs, based on Nielsen SoundScan U.S. data (2013) 1. Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell Williams, Blurred Lines (6,498,000 downloads) 2. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz, Thrift Shop (6,148,000) 3. Imagine Dragons, Radioactive (5,496,000) 4. Florida Georgia Line, Cruise (4,691,000) 5. Lorde, Royals (4,415,000) 6. Katy Perry, Roar (4,410,000) 7. Pink feat. Nate Ruess, Just Give Me a Reason (4,321,000) 8. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton, Can't Hold Us (4,260,000) 9. Bruno Mars, When I Was Your Man (3,928,000) 10. Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko, Stay (3,854,000)

I'm pretty sure she's talking about the electronic sound, the computerised, man-made instruments that are used to make the music. And how there's a gradual shift in the trend of that sound, to more organic sounds with more real instruments.
Battle 4 Ur Life 6,698
In my last post I may have sounded angrier than I actually am. It's just that she's contradicting herself way too much to be seen as solid at this point. She seems so lost still. Like she hasn't yet figured out who she wants to be. Also makes me think her next pop album (if she ever does that such thing) is gonna sound awful and disposable since she is so resented and ashamed by this genre and electronic and is now trashing her earlier stuff so bad. Today she praises MTN but talks bad about electronic to a magazine. She is people pleasing so hard for C2C!!!!!!! I hate saying this but she's sounding like an #Apologetic B*! “Fantastic, chic, freak, slay.”
giskardsb 12,565
and God only knows what it will be. This to me is one of the fun parts of being a Gaga fan. You literally have no idea what is next.
