RBNLM 1,640
I'm so glad she said that, it gives me hope for her next album to be totally different from all her previous records. I want to see as many sides to Gaga as possible during her career, I would never want her to become stale.
Levine 23,553
That's what almost every singer/writer/artists/cinematographer says every time they release something new. Of course people are proud of their most recent work. They are not going to say ''Well, I liked my previous album better, you know. But hey... Buy C2C on iTunes!'' They won't get it. Please, stop educating them.

Fusel 1,109
This is her most important album, songs she didn't write, jazz? Oh, my, what a slap to what I held dear about her. I just can't with how she's all over the place with her comments dissing one thing or another and the drama of it all. What a dis to Born This Way, that Cheek 2 Cheek is her most important album.. And electronic music can touch the soul. No reason to be so dismissive saying it's trendy. There's plenty of great electronica still going on. Just say you have other avenues you want to explore next album. I just feel she comes off bitter because her electronica infused album wasn't a massive success. I am all for Gaga going another direction, just not the negative feel I get. We've had plenty of authentic singers, Gaga. Adele, Lorde. It's not like electronica was the only genre out there selling. Oh, well. This.. I 100% support Gaga trying new things, moving away from pop and electronic music, I'm down for whatever she feels is right for her. Still, no need to treat her old work like that
COLONiCPRiNXESS 1
I want Gaga to do a neo-grunge album and write about her pain and struggle the last few years in the music industry a bit like the decay concept. Bring back rock Gags!!!
SS77 2,000
What does she mean by authentic? ballads? jazz? Music with real instruments. Now I'm really excited for her next album.
Voltaire 4,531
Let's all go back together. *leads everyone to the interview* https://soundcloud.com/gagadailyofficial/lady-gaga-on-ryan-seacrest-092514 Listen to what she says and understand context. Don't get all agnst-y. Everything is going to be okay. Remember that she is of course going to gush about another artist- she always does. She's incredibly classy. And I think she genuinely likes him, also remember that he just openly stated he's a fan of hers. She isn't going to be the sort of artist that openly bashes others or turns her nose up to those that say they are inspired by her. She simply states that she thinks that the popularity of electronic sounds is going to shift to more live-production sounds. Nothing major. No sort of music stays in the mainstream forever, which is great! As for "Most Important Album" : -She recorded an entire album with a legend. -Who honored her voice when so many don't. -In a time-tested method of recording that honors the artists involved. -Which is what she's always been about -Most important can simply mean that it honored her, inspired her, and gave her a rich and vibrant way to record future music. And lastly: -Live recording doesn't mean non-pop. Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker
SKANK 14,288
Electronic music is out, which is why she currently is promoting a tour that is comprised entirely of EDM songs with a focus on rave culture? Oy vey. Electronic music wasn't "in" at the beginning of her career, her go to line was that she had to fight to get her euro-pop dance songs on the radio. Is she admiting that she no longer has the wherewithal to get her style of music on the radio, or is she admiting that she is just going to ride the alternative pop trend? I'm cool with any style of music Gaga decideds to release, but with the dispointing quality of ARTPOP and Cheek To Cheek, I'm not going to get my hopes up. SS77 2,000
Speak for yourself. Not all Pop fans love electronic music. Gaga didn't specifically refer to ballads either or acoustic music.

Miel 15,009
I don't know, I don't think her saying "Cheek to Cheek is the most important album to date", to her, necessarily invalidates the importance of the other albums? Of course the album is important to her- she's stated over and over again (whether genuinely, for promo show, or both) that the process of making the album really helped her out of her self-said "crash". Also, considering her roots in the jazz genre, it's probably just one of many factors of the importance of it to her personally. 3 points in and ready for more

Whispering 18,865
No. Ballads are always trendy. No, they really weren't...not on Pop in the US. Until Adele's Someone Like You, there hadn't been a pure piano driven ballad anywhere near the top of the pop charts for years. That started the string of completely stripped back ballads we have seen now at the top of the Pop charts for the past three years. It used to be that you couldn't get an acoustic type song to the top either. There will always be room for a variation of song types on the Pop charts. EDM and Dance will evolve with new sounds, like always. It is just that now the raw, acoustic and ballad songs have a fighting chance, at least.
