No, she just said music is taking a new overall direction.

Good for you. But let be honest, mainstream electronic music is not "authentic" because is made mostly just to sell.

I never said I only like mainstream electronic. Why can't she do not so mainstream types of electronic?

hop on that **** like a maniac

Lorde is the opposite of generic :awkney: ever paid attention to her lyrics through out the album or have you just heard Royals on the radio?

I'll admit I don't pay much attention to her music, but I've heard more than Royals. I just think about other bands that have better, solid lyrics that have been doing that sound for years and I think she's kind of a littel cxnt.

So every time she makes a new album its going to be the most important one she ever made? her statements just lose credibility when she repeats them over and over. I don't know what to believe anymore.

Can you blame her for finding importance in each new endeavor she creates? If she didn't, she wouldn't even bother releasing it..

PopBitch

calm down lmfao she was just pointing out this new trend in music

I don't expect her to do an EDM album or even EDM-inspired album the next album.  I follow artists who always are experimenting and creatively need to do that and so get that.  It's the way she is coming off in some of her statements that seems dismissive that I just didn't particularly care for..

She is talking about mainstream electronic music. She obviously loves electronic music, and she obviously created a lot of authentic electronic songs herself. But mainstream electronic music is only made to sell more, without true feelings or artistry.

OMG, you mean ARTPOP? "Every song was designed to be a hit".  :smh:

I just hope she stops talking about what she's going to do and actually backs it up with the music and Gaga-ness she claims to be making.

Or the fact that she recorded it with a legend that she looks up to and who happened to give her hope in herself again after even her fans turned on her iGr5cXx3uU2q1.gif

She sold millions of  ARTPOP.

Whispering

Sad to hear her change her mind after she passionately defended EDM / pop music before, but i guess people change.

EDM isn't the only kind of Pop music on the charts. Pop music includes acoustic, pop-rock, ballads, etc. Pop music includes songs that are more stripped back, with more raw vocals and less production.

First Gaga did not say she is not doing electronic pop music anymore (although she may not). The fact is that mainstream electronic music is only made to sell more rather than to make something artistic or with a true meaning. Ballads or acoustic is seen as more human or with true meaning simply because the artist voice is not auto tuned, the artist gets to use their true vocal techniques, and the artists emotions therefore are not hidden behind all kinds of sounds.

That doesn't mean her fans feel that way.... We're POP fans who love her electronic music... Ballads don't make an artist "more human or raw".... I hate people who try to do acoustic stuff to look deep and serious, but THAT seems more fake to me than anything

absolutely against Sam Smith so no

and honestly I'm way more into a more indie-electronica sound than anything else right now so no i ain't hungry for what she's calling 'authentic'

I've just never heard a singer/songwriter say an album of non-original music is their most important to them, ever.  I've heard them say a less popular album they wrote is the one most important to them.

It's not about originality or whatever, but what the album did for her. Whatever happened during the ARTPOP era, reportedly damaged her to the point where she wanted to quit music. C2C and being with Tony reported gave her a new lease on her career, which is why she's saying it's the most important to her, because if she's to be believed, she wouldn't be making music anymore, but for the strength and positivity she got from the album

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
