This is her most important album, songs she didn't write, jazz?   Oh, my, what a slap to what I held dear about her.  I just can't with how she's all over the place with her comments dissing one thing or another and the drama of it all.  

 

What a dis to Born This Way, that Cheek 2 Cheek is her most important album.. 

 

And electronic music can touch the soul.  No reason to be so dismissive saying it's trendy.  There's plenty of great electronica still going on.   Just say you have other avenues you want to explore next album.

 

I just feel she comes off bitter because her electronica infused album wasn't a massive success.  I am all for Gaga going another direction, just not the negative feel I get.  We've had plenty of authentic singers, Gaga. Adele, Lorde. It's not like electronica was the only genre out there selling.  Oh, well.

It would monumental if she gets credit for ushering in more than one era of music through her career.

 

The Fame/Monster is credited for helping EDM become mainstream.

 

If she leads a new wave, that would continue to cement her place in history.

 

Very cool stuff. I'm excited at the prospect of her progressing-- especially in using live musicians to record. This is how some of the greatest albums of all time were made.

(that soul comes from being in a studio-- letting it erupt and then, in amazement, keeping it for the track. This can come from guitars, voices, anything. This voice MADE one of the biggest songs there is, and arguably it was a recording blessing/fluke)

Without obvious autotune, overproduction, etc. More stripped with real instruments and simplicity. Adele-like.

This is so promising. She's really aware of the direction the music world is headed in and I can't wait for her next album. After trying to follow trends and make a commercial album with ARTPOP, the next one should be really amazing and authentic.

Here's the thing: I really struggle to get the emotion behind Gaga's voice, and that why I'm kind of afraid that she knows that electronic music is over and is probably considering doing something more "real" for her next album. Gaga is theater, at least to me. And when she's more emotional during a performance, either she's subtle, doesn't make a thing out of it and it comes off as genuine, or she's all about the emotion of the performance and it comes off as a performance art/theater for me.

 

I'd like her to make a virtue out of it, but instead she tries to pull off performances like Dope, which might be not that well received because they are too dramatic and "real" and people associate Gaga with """"fake"""".
