Nemo 4,293
The lack of label support was very apparent with G.U.Y., as it had been with Marry the Night. Beyond that, it's hard for me to tell. But they blatantly undercut those two singles.
FGGrayson 9,670
They had 0 faith in the album because the album had 0 effort and talent put into it. OMG gurl you're in danger!! run!! Flamebait posts are not allowed because they are likely to start a fight. Do not make offensive comments bashing an artist that have no point other than to insult. If you wish to make a harsh comment, it must have a “point†or validation to back it up. Do not disrespect artists in threads dedicated to them. Do not go into a thread dedicated to Cher to talk about how much you don't like Cher. Do not go into a vegetarian thread to discuss how much you love meat. Lady Gaga does not have a dedicated thread here, but the entire site is dedicated to her, so you can't be a member here just to talk about how much you don't like Lady Gaga. Do not insult fans of any artist. Don't hijack my thread with your opinion which is besides the point and plainly just disrespectful. She wrote, sang, and produced for ARTPOP for over a year; so, don't bring "effort and talent" onto your table as a valid excuse. ARTPOP was not seen as profitable. That doesn't equal a lack of effort or talent.

antpats2 4,200
Gaga was working for freedom in her career in terms of the album theme and making songs how she wanted to, not how labels like Interscope want them made AKA bubblegum pop songs that chart at #1 for 60 weeks in a row. But Gaga didn't want that. She just wanted to make the music she wanted to make and the label didnt like that so they sabotaged Gaga and the whole album era. Gaga should leave Interscope and form her own label. THEN we would get so many pure Gaga songs and everything would work how she wants. I just want the best for her

Stefan 0
While it's ****ty that Gaga was basically left out to dry she should have used her own resources to get her message across how she wanted. Ok your label isn't that supportive? Then just do your thing as long as it isn't violating whatever the terms of your contract are. If you're so proud of your work then YOU go out and support it. So what if the label is "eh"

So what if the label is "eh" The original artrave came out of HER pocket. We only know this because MTV's John Norris publicized it during the SXSW interview. Who knows what percentage of the promo we got could've been her initiative. Gaga does in fact hold up her own fort at times. She can't do that by herself at massive scales for long periods of time though. As evident, she crashes. It's spreads her out thin. Music business is not a one man job. Nah I know it's not a one man job. I just think she strongly needs a new team (or at least some sort of team that could have picked up the slack where here label dropped off regarding the AP era). And no I'm not referring to Dada/Nicola/etc. I mean from a business and productivity standpoint.

jthorn 37
Even if you don't think ARTPOP is a great body of work, there are definite hits on there. I just don't understand why they deserted it. It's not like it was a Britney Jean disaster.
Nein 508
So they ruined ARTPOP because they dont like it? This is so faked up.
gagabro 268
It's all just very interesting because there are a few surefire hits on the album that they could have recognized (DWUW, Gypsy at the very least)
