chris777 112
I don't think she's ever said she doesn't care about the charts. She kinda did. In a different way, but the message was clear.
MonsterMum 2,532
When? When she said she didn't write music for the charts, I believe it was when the Applause vs Roar mess was going on she tweeted about it. Plus the SXSW keynote speech she said things along the similar lines.
XoXoJoanneGaga 629
When? She never said that explicitly, but she did say "I don't write music with the charts in mind". She followed that up with "Every song was designed to be a hit, every song was designed to be radio friendly"
monsterdreams 1,529
They were also high because she kept making it out to be the most amazing record ever put out. She shouldn't have hyped it up so much. Yeah the hype balloon was blown up two much and then popped when the album came out Haters gonna need more than a flashlight for my shade

mariomania1234 11,368
I know it in my heart that Gaga will move past this and come back stronger than ever. She has so much untapped potential it's ridiculous.
Whispering 18,865
You didn't crash, people just didn't like the music, the visuals, they didn't know about you this time because there are new popstars dominating the media right now... I get that you got affected by the "Not so much success" of ARTPOP, but I just don't like it when you talk about how destroyed you feel about stuff. It's like you're always showing the public how sad you are or how much of a victim you are. That's what I don't like, but I get that you share that with the fans and the public. Gaga did crash. She ended up with clinical depression, with suicidal ideation. That's a crash. She's not playing the victim, she is sharing the way she felt. Sorry that you don't like to hear it as a fan, but it's a good thing that she is talking about this time in her life. It's all part of the recovery and healing process. I don't want her to keep everything inside and end up like Robin Williams. Wow. She crashed ? ARTPOP sold less so she crashed ? That's not what she said. That's not what she has been saying either. It would be pretty stupid to say she doesn't care because everyone would love to be at #1, but that doesn't mean they write music with that in mind. No artist likes their work bashed and d--g through the mud, but many do not create their art with the sole intention of it being a success. Many artists do. Those are the Dr. Luke's, and artists I won't name, in this world. That's okay too, but it is formulaic and intended for a certain purpose. Not every artist wants to be a paint-by-number type. Emvee 8,350
Wow. She crashed ? ARTPOP sold less so she crashed ? We had a mini blackout in the middle of the era, because she became depressed. I hardly think that was solely because "ARTPOP sold less."
Stefani328 321
I do think people want her to have the success of TF/M again. They want it so bad they can taste it and since she hasn't lived up to the success of those eras, it's like a slap in the face to them. It's like people complaining everytime she performs and it isn't the same as her VMA 2009 performance. As a fan, I want Gaga to be successful but I do not think it's possible to replicate those sales from the TF/M. She isn't the same artist anymore. She isn't new girl on the pop scene. I do believe she can be successful with coming eras. However, I do realize Gaga loves to hype her **** and so do the fans. I would love for her to just release a pop album without the hype and talk about everything after the fact with promotion. It would help her and the fans wouldn't complain and say she promised anything.
NewYorkCity 10,536
But writing music for the charts and caring about the charts are two different things. I am glad there's more people that understand that. It is eassy to get but oh well....
Shadow 6,625
Sometimes, it takes a fall, to learn to pick yourself back up. Sounds like she learned much about herself and what makes her tick, apart from the world around her. Those lessons never leave you. It doesn't always break trust with humanity, one just learns what people have to do to earn it and keep it. People come and go, but the lessons are always there. Of course, those who truly care about you will always be by your side. As for the rest, yesterday is gone. Living to the fullest today builds a more enriched future, not a destination, but a journey worth having. Do your own research.
NewYorkCity 10,536
I am glad that she thinks this way :) What happened is ok and it could happen to anyone, so Gaga now get it together and slay the world again, you can do it and we are here to support you no matter what https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C1K8GbK1H4 I love this
