the most shocking part about this story is that the fish was 10 years old 

The average lifespan is actually 10-20 years suprisingly! Most owners don't know how to properly care for them though - it's not suprising that the fish made it to 10 with owners that care about it so much.

What a heartwarming story :sara:

This fish is very loved by his owners and that's beautiful. And he wasn't "just a fish" to his owners, he obviously was more than that.
