The wording is definitely a problem, people shouldn't use disorders synonymously with things like this. It's pretty ignorant. It's like when someone says I'm feeling depressed or I'm depressed when they purely feel a slight bit of temporary sadness for 10 minutes..

If I was fat, and was told that "If I lost ten pounds, I'd be hot" I would take it as quite a compliment. I don't get her.

Suppose a Christian told a gay "You'd be a good person and I'd love to be your BFF, if only you'd cut out the sinful gay thing." That's a compliment too, isn't it?

But usage has moved in that direction. People used to "have the blues" now they "feel depressed". There is no clear boundary between depression as a bio-medical condition and and being temporarily sad and miserable.

Supposing she said "I tried to starve myself" - would you get all offended on behalf of 3rd world victims of famine and say it's insensitive to equate dieting with real famine?

Or "I fasted" - you know fasting in a religious practice, how dare she appropriate that culture for a mere diet?

She is great. Just an all around genuine person.

It's a good thing the rest of the world loves her. She isn't b---hy or skinny enough for the gay's affection.

except being fat has health issues apart from just affecting the way you look. incorrect a--logy.

and I'm sure nobody wants to be fat, and I wonder how many fat people really do not want to change that about themselves (your example is like apples and oranges.)
