no. ARTPOP had loads of promo, I seriously don't get how yall don't see that.

VMAs, AMAs, The Voice, SNL, loads of Radio appearances, on GMA twice, a Youtube Awards performance, which sent to basically every Youtube user an email telling them to watch the performance (which led Dope to the top 10 due to streaming but STILL barely sold afterwards), The X Factor UK,  500 billboards used all over the world with the cover featured on it. STOP. The problem with ARTPOP was obviously not the promo,

EDIT: The promo was great up to december, I agree afterwards it got bad. And the only wrong step in promo was not releasing the DWUW video.

So true. But not okay with the DWUW vid always thought it would destroy her career : "Floppy Gaga tries to make the pedophiles & rapist trendy!" would title the papers. They would have killed her not letting her A chance!

4 me ARTPOP flopped because of... ARTPOP. i'm listening the album right now and I loveeeed it but it just didn't match with the GP.

The only bad thing I could say about the album is that the production are not fine for Gagas. They're bad sometimes (MANiCURE, Swine, SXX Dreams...) and almost shocking for a popstar at this level. I love the melodies tho and think she really worked hard... This is what she really has to work on for the next album  cause some ARTPOP production are almost unforgivable looking to the pure melody and songs next to it.

Yes, for the next album I just want someone to tell her what to do with the prod, helping her. I want her to be free in her creative processus but she needs to know her limits to pull on the best. She needs an expert to tell her when the productions are low-cost electro. I think DJWS is a great one with inspirations but he's not good enough to put the best productions. May be RedOne should be there in every song tell her what doesn't match in her work with DJWS...

But at the end, she can do whatever she wants: I'll listen to it.

They spent 500.000 dollars on the iTunes fest, from stage to production to travel to everything.

I THOUGHT iTunes were paying for that

And your source is...?Also, you're implying that wasn't money well-spent?

Multiple sources reported so back in September. And yes, that money wasn't very wellspent imo. It fid nothing for the album, Gaga's career, etc. Perhaps they got a few free iTunes banners, but that's it. She spent a week rehearsing for that and 500k dollars. She could've performed at a few shows in Europe or Australia instead, and it could've saved the whole era in a few countries.

Another big mistqke is that she was still in the studio all of september and most of october. She should've used that time for WW promo. Applause flopped outside the US and a few other countries.

Radio festivals and such are paid by the artist, and they are a sort of legal payola: I give you a concert if you give me a banner for my album.

lol didn't know about that .... so Gaga was having that and artRave in mind when she was walking that she had to pay everything from her pocket  :emma:

and 500k ... half million for that  :udidnt:  like there wasn't even something extraordinary  :excuseme:

Can you name one?

It gave us all a great show, and they packaged it as a DVD with the album as a special edition (only outside the U.S., apparently, but anyway). I'm very glad to have it.

Correction: 500000 pounds. So like 800k $.

http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/news/celebrity/2013/09/02/lady-gaga-ARTPOP-itunes-festival-performance-review was the only source I could find back.but I remember reading it on MTV and a few other sites too.

No indication in that article where they got the figure, nor does it say anything about who paid that cost.

I'm being hard on you over this point, in part, because it reminds me of the "$25 million overall ARTPOP promo cost", that we know to be totally fictitious, which originated with Angela Cheng, but was very widely circulated, despite having no credibility. It's happened with other things, too. Multiple sources don't count for much when they're just quoting each other without independent verification.

Something a little less self-referential than her recent works. High concept. High fashion. Dark and complex. Visceral and visual. ART.

Garibay. I want Garibay. (And Nicola - at least for her videos/performances - but that's probably not going to happen)

Why does everybody want Garibay? Her productions are messy and he ruins the vocals overproducing. I'd be here for a polished garibay

this even DITD is overproduced as fck .... the only songs I like from him are TEOG and HML :legend:

2 songs from him would be more than enough :coffee:

Vocal distortions aside, Garibay is the best producer Gaga has worked with imo. I love the complexity of his productions, and the epic sound he is able to create. Though yes, his knack of distorting vocals is a let down to me.

Really hope he's on the next album. He and RedOne and the songs the two of them have produced are MILES ahead of everyone else.
