User Metacritic reviews are horrible, average 45/100 right now :noparty:

I just gave a 100 and left a positive written review, hopefully it'll help.

same same.

I thought it was a decent 3/5, but nothing more than that. I thought All About That Bass was ok and Lips Are Movin' extremely mediocre, so it didn't really set a good precedent. But seeing as all the songs from her Title EP were going to be on it and I'd liked two of them, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Looks like the mixed reception was the suitable reaction.

All About That Bass - Pretty basic body acceptance song. What takes it down majorly, though, is Meghan's bizarre pronounciation of bass when she repeats it three times and the skinny shaming lines. 3/5

Dear Future Husband - My favourite song from her EP. It's a cute song about the ideal man and I'm sure a lot of girls will relate to it and it's just one of those songs that fill you with joy. It outright steals the beat from Dance With Me Tonight by Olly Murs, though, and that beat is a huge part of why I like it. 4/5

Close Your Eyes - Really basic self acceptance song. Doesn't come across as genuine and just sticks to every cliche set down by those before her regarding such songs. 2/5

3am - Extremely boring relationship woes song that has a modern tone that doesn't suit Meghan. Worst song on the album. 1.5/5

Like I'm Gonna Lose You - Any cliche ridden love song. Not the worst but not the best either. 2.5/5

Bang Dem Sticks - The surprise bop about a hot drummer. I had low hopes for this track based on the name but it turned out to be my favourite. Her rapping is top notch, the beat is sick, the attitude is sassy and it should be her next single, perfect for spring/summer. Only downside: its beat is very similar to Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo. 4/5

Walkashame - Possibly the cutest track about debauchery ever made. It's knowing without being sleazy and is very different from most songs of its type. But it's unfortunate that it brought to mind Walk Of Shame by Pink, which might explain why the title is a mashup of the words to avoid cries of copyright. But whereas Pink's was specifically about a one night stand, Meghan's could also be just about being hungover, so it's not completely similar. 3.5/5

Title - The other gem from her EP. Really cute little ukelele beat supporting a topic that most girls can relate to - a boy we're in lust with who just wants to be friends. Really sunny and uplifting. But one little lyrical criticism? I really don't want to think of Meghan naked in a bed. 3.5/5

What If I - Adorable little retro ditty about falling in love. Simple, but effective. 3.5/5

Lips Are Movin' - Mediocre track that rips off All About That Bass's sound in hopes of similar success and falls victim to the one hit wonder habit of bringing in words from the previous hit. Also, knowing that someone's lying because their lips are moving? I don't quite get it. 2/5

No Good For You - Basic song about a friend who has a boy that's no good for her. Nothing more to say. 2/5

My Almost - Basic song about having no chemistry with a boy that was expected to be more. Second worst song. 1.5/5

My Selfish Heart - Decent song about having to breaking up because Meghan wants to concentrate on her career. I appreciate her honesty in admitting her actions are a bit selfish and it seems to be very self aware. 3/5

Credit - Surprisingly good song about Meghan seeing her ex with a new girl and thinking that little does she know that her new man wasn't always as good as he is now and it was her that made him what he is today. I doubt that Meghan gave anyone swagger, but it's too good to pass up. I'd really like to know what she says after "he holds her hand at the movies," though, as all I can hear is something very rude that I doubt she said (would be a great line in an x-rated parody, though!) and another little lyrical criticism: I really don't want to think about Meghan making a man last for hours (and I don't think that's something you want to boast about either!) 3.5/5

Overall, a cute little pop album that's very different to what's out there. But Meghan's songwriting needs some work and I really don't see her staying around much longer. She really can't sing (which means to say that she can't hit any big notes and just possesses the most simple of vocal talent) and I don't see her singing about anything profound that may gain her more critical acclaim. And as seen in my review, her inspirations are a bit too obvious at times, to the point of thievary, not helped by me liking some of these tracks partly because they remind me of other ones. Makes me wonder if it's really her talent I'm praising. I'll give her props, though, she can pull off cute very well and it's great that she writes all her own stuff that she's comfortable with. I raise my eyebrows over her label's idea to put all her EP tracks on the album, though. Seeing as we've already heard four of them plus Lips Are Movin' prior to the album's release, it means there's not much new stuff to listen to, seeing as the standard edition is only 5 tracks long, minus the interlude. And as all the songs are so short, it won't even run long. Which basically encourages everyone to buy the more expensive deluxe edition with 4 extra tracks, which seems like a money grabber to me. We'll have to see if it affects sales, though.

she really titled her debut album 'Title'? That's... intriguing...

She might have meant it to have the intent that her song of the same name does. Title is about wanting to be bestowed with the title of girlfriend. So, she could mean that, or it could be meaning hoping to be bestowed with the moniker of "star," "pop sensation" or whatever, just like when we hear of "getting the pop queen title." Originally, I thought it was just because she couldn't think of another name for the album and thought: "What will I title this album? How about Title? It's better than Insert Album Name Here!" When you think about it, it's not like there was much else to pick. All About That Bass would've made the album sound like it was all about butts and none of the other song names fit. And self-titled Meghan Trainor hardly screams "superstar." So, she went for the most literal thing she could do!

I really really disagree with the claims of the last review on here, but to each their own

I'm still bopping hard to this :music:

Considering that she wrote these lyrics and songs a while ago and didn't expect to have an album rushed out, I still think her lyrics are cute and clever, given their topic of discussion. They, in my opinion, give a good sense of her (or at least her a year ago :smh: ). Cute with just a twinge of sass. The only complaints I can honestly see as being totally 100% valid and obvious is that the sound is very ... very cohesive on most of the songs. I'm not necessarily stanning for her yet, (though I do love this album). I need to hear more different sounds from her to be conclusive

album is a 70/100 for me

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
