Economy 53,090
Murrica: Where we invade other countries for natural resources, but you're on your own if you get captured. This country is despicable.theres no need to invade any for natural reaources. You can buy any comodity on the market and then invading a place for resources woukdnt change market rules or what they pay for it. I think thats a myth ppl believe because ppl always like conspiracy theories Tbh i think Americas involvement in everything has more to do with showing power and the Governments love of their own military which runs deep culturally by some ppl I mean the worlds second biggest spender on military is China and they spend $100 Billion a year. The US by contrast spends roughly $600 Billion The US spends 6 times more than the second biggest spender and spends more than the other top 10 combined... How is that justified? It isn't truely justifiable by any means. This country was founded on the principal of "Manifest Destiny". That is the government's 'justification". There's no denying that. That is the government's 'justification". There's no denying that. If the US cut $400 Billion from military and stayed with a budget of $200 Billion the US would still spend twice as much as the second biggest spender (China) A lot can be done with $400 Billion. They could spend it on infrastructure, school, tax cuts or even deficit reduction Of course the cuts would have to be gradual to not cause a shock to the economy. Well good luck ever getting the US government to ever do that. Many, if not most, Americans disagree with the policy and agree that we spend too much on military when our infrastructure and basically everything else in this country is falling apart before our eyes. Alas tho, our government doesn't care about any of that at all. So long as they keep getting money and Big Money keeps buying Congressmen their way into power, that's all they're worried about. All because MONEY = SPEECH in this country ever since Citizens United.

All because MONEY = SPEECH in this country ever since Citizens United.i know the US Government wont ever do that. But they definitely should Whats more frightning is that just about every world power in history that collapsed had the same issue They over stretched amount of resources spent in military, their resources were weared thin, their power began to weaken and they were brought down by another empire Of course these are different ages. I doubt anyone would just attack America for land. But now-a-days economic power is a major thing. Much intervention with Ukraine/Russia was done with economic sanctions not direct military involvement Germany being economically strong is also how its had such an impact in the EU during this economic crisis China has a lot of power world-wide because of its strog economy not because its attacking everyone with its military. The US downfall could be bankruptcy and economic collapse that follows like Greece. Of course that would still be years away... But in the current path it will happen eventually if nothing is changed.
