MelbHawker 6,583
Her vocals on ARTPOP were overdone in some songs. Like.. in Swine and 'ARTPOP' her vocals sound monotonous/flat/plastic.
Pain of fame1 228
I always felt that she used it like she used any other instrument. It never takes away from the song, and it's not like she uses it in live performances, so I don't really see an issue with it. THIS. I don't mind if she uses it. TheAlienatedNYC 619
Like her songs are not soooooo "controled", but some of them got too plastic (like Paparazzi), but she dont sounds like a robot at all. But there is a real big difference from her 3 past albuns and their live versions you know, she sounds really different from studio to live, ARTPOP is more closer to the truth /cher

holy scheisse 21,813
All of you are calling her old Gwen Stefani like high pitched voice a product of auto tune. I honestly don't think it is. Her voice and singing style has VASTLY changed. All of her songs recorded in 2007 (like "Paparazzi" and "Summerboy" and before have that voice. Go look at her LIVE performances of "Wonderful" and "Fever" and you'll hear that her voice did indeed, actually sound like that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8CUn2VsgzU Yeah, Ive heard them before. PopBitch 1,218
I've never heard of someone who says she's in control of her product having no control in how the finished product sounds. That's all she's bragged about. I'm over her whining to the media. She does so much of it, always laying blame everywhere is the way it comes across. Tropico 4,145
The way in which she uses autotune is pleasent. I hope she keeps using autotune because it's nice for studio versions and during concerts it's nice to hear the studio versions and her beautiful natural voice. It'd suck if she stopped using autotune. But God forbid she uses autotune like she did in The Fame. The way it was used in ATTPOP and TFM slays. ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
Tropico 4,145
Vocally: Born This Way>The Fame>The Fame Monster>ARTPOP The Fame's robotic voice is better than the smooth vocals of ARTPOP and TFM? Born This Way is like my favorite album but Judas, Electric Chapel and Highway Unicorn can't even TOUCH Bad Romance/Gypsy. ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
scrappy 302
The Fame's robotic voice is better than the smooth vocals of ARTPOP and TFM? Born This Way is like my favorite album but Judas, Electric Chapel and Highway Unicorn can't even TOUCH Bad Romance/Gypsy. The Fame has some songs with less edited vocals like Brown Eyes, Summerboy or The Fame. On TFM almost every song has noticeably autotuned vocals (especially Bad Romance intro, So Happy I Could Die, Speechless) and ARTPOP is just terrible (Swine, Aura, Gypsy, ARTPOP, MANiCURE, Venus, JnD, MJH bridge). bionic 46,123
Tbh im glad her label controlled her quite a bit. It was good music and performances Now that she has more freedom she deteriorated I guess the issue is shes talanted and does a better job at mainstream than other artists so i loved her. But what she really likes to do is more traditional which franqkly im just not that into I'm with you on this one stream ritacadabra

Miel 15,009
I guess it boils down to which songs was the tuning used intentionally (HML, Paper Gangsta), and which were used against what she visioned? 3 points in and ready for more

Sabertooth 2
You wouldn't be anything without the auto-tune in TF album. Auto tune is what made artists in 2006 and it still does. Gaga has an amazing voice, but so does my half sister. Kind of biting the hand that fed you. Kind of like that sheep on straw.
