Chic 20,830
I saw your previous posts about Sam Smith, and you have a serious problem with this guy. May I ask why you find him 'annoying'? Yes, Sam was boring to me. I find his voice irritating, the high notes were technically vocally impressive but the annoyance overpowered that, leaving me with little appreciation for his vocal presentation. The visual aspect was minimal, as it was him literally just standing there. I have no problems with standing or sitting performances but his voice and the song are just not my cup of tea at all, and that combined with the lack of movement just weren't appealing to me. I didn't fall asleep during the performance though, I'll give him that, but that was only because his piercing high notes shocked me out of the daze, and not in a good way. I like artists who add to the songs with the performances. That doesn't mean they have to, but it would have made Sam's performance that much more palatable for me if they had some added instrumentation or ambience. This is just my opinion though. I respect Sam but I have no interest in him musically or as an artist in general. Since this point I've discovered that his personality ALSO annoys me. What I said applies to his music as well. His songwriting is lackluster to me, his rhymes are atrociously typical. I can't stand him. There is my "let's cater to his fans by being respectful" opinion of Sam Smith and my "I can't ****ing bear to continue to hear about someone I find so irritating" opinion of Sam Smith. It's not so easy to switch off, he is mentioned at least three times a day here, whether it be in a status update or a topic. To me, he is nothing innovative. His songs are generic lyrically. Nothing about him comes off as "inspiring" or "legendary" to me. He's a one hit wonder to me, I don't care how many songs he has in the top ten, he will be known for "Stay With Me" at this point and until more material comes out, that's it. Many songs have been #1, even, that are entirely forgettable, so to use his charting technicalities as a way of justifying his longevity and potential as a star through other album tracks means little at this point. He doesn't have the kind of vocal talent that essentially guarantees him fame for it. He is a decent melodist, I'll give him that. But he doesn't give off the vibe of someone who will last as an artist.

LordDisick 1
Or this at 16. Btw, that last picture was a picture taken from his private FB or twitter account before he was famous, just like the other two. The others are two pictures, not hundreds. He didn't dress like that all the time, everyday, from his teens to his 20s. Everyone has pictures of themselves out on the town, at different events, that are more OTT than they are in real life. IDK...maybe he went through a phase of experimenting with styles and looks in his teens? As a teen, he did wear suits and/or dress clothes when he was performing music and that's the same thing he is doing now. Most adults change their style of dress and how they present themselves to the world from the way they did in their teens anyhow. Sam is now a public figure. When he goes out, or when he performs, he is working. I would hate to think that people expected me to dress, like I dressed on a few fun nights out at concerts and events downtown, during my adult life. It's odd that people have decided that two pictures years ago, out of hundreds...some during that same time and some since then, is the "real Sam". That's trying really hard to make something out of nothing. your posting a picture when he was 16...obviously he's gonna dress normal since he wasnt out and it was a photoshoot im sure you can find other "normal" pictures of him too, but at the end of the day, his image is contrived

RAMROD 104,523
That is fine and he have a choice. That is what equality is about. Just because he is a gay man, doesn't mean he have to be a spoje person. All the same with just because you are a woman, does not make you have to be a feminist.
