If he was wearing a full face of make-up and feminine clothing, I could see why they'd make him remove it. It's hard to tell from the article whether this person was purposely shamed or kindly asked to remove the make-up. My mother has a fake set of teeth and they asked her to remove it for her last photo as well as put her hair down and remove her hair ribbon. Wtf. But another time it was all totally fine. I have a friend who used to headline a drag show every weekend, and they let him take his driver's license photo in drag. Well it just so happens he did get pulled over and the cop wasn't able to properly identify him which caused a whole lot of legal drama that ended up costing him thousands. Unless you have some crystal ball and you know FOR SURE that you will not need your driver's license, you should take the DMV's advice and stop twisting this into a LGBT issue. However, in the video included with the article, it shows (what I think is) pictures of the young man with and without make-up. There doesn't appear to be that much a difference in his looks.
