they way that google handles their accounts (gmail, that's used on mostly everything on android) is really good, they notify you if someone gets in your account from a different IP, notify you every month or something to add a 2-step verification login if you don't have it enabled, give you a code one time that you have to save if something happens to your account, etc.

 

and android is safe, for example you can delete the data of your phone from a computer if it's stolen (and there are some other apps in the store, that allow you to record, take pictures, etc. if someone steals it so you can find it or send that data to the police), but it's when people install things that come from outside of the market (for example downloading .apk files of paid apps to use them for free) is when it gets unsafe.

Yeah right... This still Apple responsibility to secure their servers against such hacking. Any ways you look at it, it is not good for Apple.

It's a secure OS, it's just not safer than iOS mostly because of the reason you mentioned. The average user has no idea what's going on with the permissions.

Idk man, it kind of seems weird that so many of them would have had weak passwords, especially being celebrities. If I were famous I'd want to make my password as strong as possible because I'd know that I'd be a potential target for things like that.

I've heard that once you're connected to the cloud service, any photo that you take is automatically stored there, even when you delete it from your phone. You have to actually go into the cloud to delete it. Not sure if that's true or not, but it's possible that at least some of these girls had no idea that the pictures still existed until they were leaked.

I'm sure that they had no clue that the pictures were on the cloud, but I would honestly be more careful with naked pictures of myself.

But at the end of the day, who cares? Its the human body, its not that big of a story. The media is being over dramatic as usual.

Sorry, but Apple's site didn't have any protection from brute force attacks, like 99% of other passworded sites. If it did, the leaks wouldn't have happened. You can't expect people to have a password like "laughingMonk36_SsmalL69u4carDeSkUkr4aine__g_ee" to be secure.
