Black man arrested for sitting down on a public bench

A friend of mine shared this on Facebook and I thought it would post it here. It's a really hard video to watch.

It shows a St. Paul shows a St. Paul police officer arresting a black man who was doing nothing more than waiting to pick up his children. Apparently he was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, and obstructing the legal process, but those charges were later dropped.

It really shows that racial profiling is still a horrible reality.

God what the f*ck is wrong with our police system in America?! All police officers legitimately need extreme mental evaluations before being put on the force, then sh*t like this won't happen anymore.

Ok but I sort of wish he would have stopped talking for two seconds because I can't understand anything the cops are saying. Like he keeps saying what did I do but I don't know what the lady is saying in response to that.

No offense to anyone with loved ones who are in the police force, but you almost HAVE to have mental issues to even want to be a police officer in the first place. Most of them have savior complexes and problematic attitudes towards those who are different from themselves.

I don't know if I would immediately say it was racial profiling. They received a call about an individual waiting in a skywalk, he was the only one so obviously they were going to question him. Escalating it to the level they did was wrong though.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Well, they received a call that somebody was loitering around the area which is odd enough when he was just sitting in a public area where other people can sit.

Once the police arrived, he explained that he wasn't doing anything wrong and that he was waiting to pick up his kids. I don't think it should have escalated to the point where he was arrested. He clearly wasn't being aggressive and he had a very legitimate reason to be there.
